The Flav is a Beautiful Plant

I wish I had pics to share, but I don't at the moment. Can't afford a cam at the moment. Sorry.

But let me tell you, the Flav is a beautiful plant. I'm just starting week 5 of flower in Super Soil. 15 girls selected from 30 seeds, 17 females total, had to cull down to 15 to keep my numbers legit. I'd say there are three phenos, two taller phenos with a healthy stretch and one pheno that's shorter and more compact. It has a very nice, full frame and I can tell already she's going to be a nice producer. :)

One thing I think is truly remarkable is that some of the plants have light, bright pink pistils. They're really breathtaking to look at and are especially striking because the Romulan mom seems to have passed on her purple stems. A very beautiful combination if I may say so myself.

The smell is also just freaking AMAZING. From growing out JTR, I recognize the fruity Space Queen smell right out front, but the Rom just adds this indescribable, exotic aroma that combines with the Dude's essence just perfectly. I can't wait to see how they smell at chop time. They smell better every day.

Oh yeah, and as to be expected with any cross with the Dude, resin production is just stupid. Yeah. The Dude abides.

I just wanna say that from what I've seen so far, the Flav doesn't get nearly the love that it should. I can't wait to smoke the damn things. :weed:

Hat's off to ya, Sub. And serious props for breeding with the Rom. I'm from the PNW and It makes me very happy to see that you're still breeding with her, because I believe the Rom is a very special strain and she deserves to have her genes preserved. Thank you very much, brother. I'm hoping to have my buddy come take pictures at chop time and I promise to share with you guys.

Peace and sticky fingers to you all.

Great post! Its always interesting to hear a detailed description of a strain by someone that grows it. +rep. I just wish there were pics. The Flav is on my short list of strains to grow. A harvest and smoke report would be much appreciated. Good luck!

Thanks for the report! I am still interested in this one as well..... I've always wanted to try a Romulan.
This one will remain on my list. Thanks again.

I grew 3 Flav 's last year (outdoor).Another benefit of the Flav is it is super easy to trim.It took only a couple of hours to trim all three.I 'm gonna do 6-8 Flavs this year( in supersoil ) as well as 4 other TGA strains, Vortex,Kaboom,Pandoras box,JTR I popped the seeds as well as 3 chernobyl (they didnt sprout) and only one JTR sprouted out of 2 seeds.I have to say the Vortex seeds sprouted in 2 days in a dome with a heat mat.The JTR is twice as tall as the rest.

The girls look like they're about a week out from chop. I have a buddy coming over to snap some nice pics sometime before harvey.

Good luck with Ripper, brother. I've grown her out before and found the Pink Lemonade in a ten pack. It's amazing smoke and an incredible painkiller for a sativa dom.

Well, the photo session never happened. :( Homeboy flaked out.

Anyhow, It's time for an early smoke report. Buds have been curing in jars now for about 10 days after a nice, long slow dry and are smelling amazing. It all hovers somewhere in the neighborhood of a cross between spice, incense, and over ripe fruit and berries. Very exotic funk, and boy is it a stinker when a nug is left out. I left one sitting on the kitchen table and the whole house reeked when I woke up the next morning.

The taste gets better every day as the cure goes on, some phenos taste like an exotic spice, it's hard to put my finger on it. Tastes a lot like it's the Rom coming through in her. Other phenos taste fruitier like a berry jam of some kind, but still have this indescribable exhale to them. These ones are deee-licious and are looking to be my keepers.

And most importantly, the buzz! Holy hell, this is like a swift hammer blow to the forebrain! The onset is instant and has a very nice heady buzz for about 30 minutes and then moves on to a mix of a great head and very nice body high. A great pain killer, really helps my joint and back pain immensely. The buzz lasts a good while, a small joint had me and my old man baked for a couple hours, and we are both patients and have a very high tolerance.

I took them at 70 days and 5-10% amber (I think the CO2 delayed ripening a bit, oh well :) ) They yielded very well considering the fact that they started fading about a week early for my liking. I don't have a scale to weigh the meds, but I can tell ya, the colas were huge and even the lowers were nice and dense.

The bubble hash from the trim was amazing full melt and also had the same indescribable taste as the buds, but even stronger. It smelled like straight blackberries and incense. Just simply incredible bubble. I might even run a whole plant through the bags next harvest, it's that good.

Anyhow, A+ on the Flav, Sub. Thanks for keeping the Rom alive, too.

-Another happy patient from the land of WA

They both have a gnarly stone to them, but I'd say the shorter ones are stonier and the taller ones are a bit more heady, but not by a lot. Very similar.
