I think it may be worth waiting to see if the Republicans even have any
agree but off topic. I am curious about what policy features you see as definitive. “association with others” doesnt work for me. I have crude and unreliable internal models for the politics of the people you mention.

So Im looking for something that doesn’t require having exposure to daily news and keeping up with who what whom.

Are you willing to be a bit abstract in telling me? Imagine I’ve been given the assignment to write a paragraph of each for a planned honors civics class.

Well I'm hoping things change. Both the Democrat and Republican parties suck. I've looked into the alliances being formed from various political organizations to become the Forward Party and I think we might have a real shot at breaking the lock the D's and R's have on our politics.

For moderates like me there is no place in either party. I say stay out of a woman's right to choose. If I want to own a gun then I will. A boy is a boy and a girl is a girl. trump is a piece of garbage. If I admit that I despise trump Republicans call me lib. If I say defund the police is a stupid idea Democrats call me a nazi. Screw both parties.

I'm tired of hearing about Gay rights, watching our natural resources be plundered and polluted. Defund the police is a bunch of crap and building a wall on the border with Mexico is a waste of money. I oppose views in both parties and I agree with views in both parties. It used to be that there would be compromise and the system while not perfect still functioned. Now we got whackos on the right and the left holding both parties hostage and it's time that shit comes to an end.

I'm not optimistic about the Forward Party making any considerable progress but I sure hope it does. Both the Democrats and Republicans are corrupt entities pandering to the loudest radical voices of their base.

Here in Oregon we have a candidate for Governor named Betsy Johnson. She was a Democrat until she left the party out of disgust and is running unaffiliated. She's a lifelong Oregonian, believes in a Women's right to choose and the right to own a gun. In fact she owns a machine gun and is unapologetic about it. She's getting my vote as will the Forward Party in the next Presidential election because nether the D's or R's are going to nominate anyone worth voting for.

There are good people on both the left and the right. The radicals will have you believe that the other side is all bad. That's bullshit. Too many people vote based on D or R.

“a boy is a boy and a girl is a girl” is a seemingly simple phrase concealing a visceral punch, and it means different things to different people.

Please tell me what it means or implies to you.

What does it mean? It's pretty simple. If you were born a boy or girl that's what you are. If you want to live as a transgender then that's your right. But schools shouldn't have to put tampons in the boys bathrooms because some girl that identifies and dresses as a boy want to use the boys bathroom while she's having her period.

Now in some states like here in Oregon you can choose not to be any sex and have Binary on your driver's license. This crap is beyond the silly stage and is just plain stupid.

I'm kinda conflicted about this.

On one hand, I've always despised the Two-Party system for quite a few reasons. Lack of diversity in choices, for one.

On the other hand, more Political Parties IMO just means more distraction, more division, more feet-dragging & sitting on hands.

I dunno. ...

I always find it curious why people are so worried about children's toiletry needs.

Also 'defund the police' is a bullshit right wing propaganda narrative. Democrats were the one that actually funded the police when the Republicans in congress refused to do it during the pandemic.

As for this rich guy party, they would be better off taking over the current mess that the Republican party is, and bringing it into the new millennium. This is just going to help Republicans get back the power they need to keep the people creating this party from having to pay taxes.

Edit:
After looking at it real fast, the whole free period products thing seems like a really good idea to me. It is sad that people would use this as a another attack against trans kids.

Daphne Ischer was taking a test during her freshman year in high school when she unexpectedly got her period in class. She rushed to the bathroom but couldn't find a tampon.

"I literally just had to walk around the hallway looking for other students," the 17-year-old, now a senior at Tualatin High School in Tualatin, Oregon, told TODAY. "I asked probably 10 people before I was able to find someone with a tampon."

She returned to the classroom more than 20 minutes later, and her test score suffered as a result.

"Paper towels and toilet paper? They're provided. They're a necessity. Had I been able to just go in there and get what I needed, it wouldn't have been a problem," Ischer said.

It's a story she's told many times — to her school board as well as to state legislators at a hearing earlier this year in support of the Menstrual Dignity Act, a bill that passed largely thanks to efforts from students like Ischer, and which now requires all public schools in Oregon to provide free period products to students.

"This bill was brought up by thousands and thousands of Oregon students from every corner of the state just saying, 'This is a basic need that everyone should have,' and they felt schools should be able to provide it," Rep. Ricki Ruiz, a chief sponsor of the bill, told TODAY. "There were a lot of traumatizing stories that current and former students shared. For me and I think for some of my colleagues, it was a real eye-opener. No student should feel like that."

The law requires all public institutions of education — including elementary, middle and high schools as well as community colleges and public universities — to provide pads and tampons at no cost to students. It went into effect in July, meaning this fall is when students started noticing the new dispensers in their restrooms for the first time.

Months before the bill passed, Ischer and her peers had successfully convinced their school board to approve free period products in all Tigard-Tualatin School District schools, taking cues from students who had done the same thing in Eugene, Oregon.

A 2021 study from the nonprofit organization Period and period-proof underwear company Thinx Inc. found that nearly 1 in 4 U.S. students can't afford menstrual hygiene products, a finding executive director Michela Bedard called an "overlooked crisis."

"If we were dealing with a crisis that affected a quarter of students and had to do with food, housing or injury, this would be all over the news, we would have government programs funded around it, we have departments tackling it, but because it's such a taboo topic, it's just unaddressed," Bedard told TODAY.

"What free products in schools mean is that you don't have those uncomfortable situations like Daphne had," she added. "It also means you'll have higher student engagement. You have students that can go to school without stress. You have students that can go to school with dignity, without concern. And if they come from a home where period products are inaccessible or unaffordable, they have school to rely on for that."

A growing number of schools and institutions are providing free period products. A similar menstrual equity act has been introduced in California. Earlier this year, the governor of Washington signed a bill requiring free tampons and pads in schools. In 2020, Scotland became the first country to make period products free — for everyone, not just at schools.

Young people have been at the forefront of much of that change. Youth activists are leading the period poverty movement, which aims to eliminate inadequate access to menstrual hygiene products as well as period-related stigma. The nonprofit organization Period has more than 325 youth-led chapters across the world. Ischer is the president of her local chapter. The group meets with school board members weekly, organizes period product drives and tries to reduce period-related shame and stigma through education.

Oct. 9 is Period Action Day, an effort by menstrual equity activists to take a stance against period poverty and stigma, which involves virtual and in-person events worldwide.

"I know that this generation — Daphne's generation — is going to solve (period poverty) in their lifetime, because of their bravery and their vulnerability in talking about an issue like this," Bedard said. "And if this generation can't solve it, nobody can."

I’m curious what bothers you about this. The cost of extra tampon dispensers in the boys room?
If you have to ask, then you wouldn't understand.

It's ludicrous that a BOYS bathroom would be stocked with FEMALE hygiene products. It's just another one of the stupid things radical politicians are shoving down peoples throats. If you took a survey I bet at least 75% of Americans would say it's stupid but yet it's the extremes on both sides that get their nonsense enacted. Putting tampons in a boys restroom is as stupid as building that dumb wall on the Mexico border that can be climbed over in a matter of seconds. If a girl needs those products then they're available in the girls bathroom. What reason is there for them being in a boys bathroom? They don't have vaginas and menstruate. What's next? Pass out jock straps to the girls in PE class?

I'm done with both of the United States political parties and I'm definitely not alone. Shits going to hell but hey, some boys now have access to tampons.

thank you for shiwing where the punch is aimed. Who in the political center is worried about tampon dispensers?

Imagine. I walk into a men’s room and I find a tampon dispenser. I have a negative reaction.

I walk out of the bathroom pissed off because now I must dig down to just why it offended me. And I know all Im gonna find is something ugly deep inside me thst I have been pointedly not examining.

My actual reaction upon
(takes a break, decides to look it up)
oh shit. I am trying to reason through a bit of dominionist agitprop.

walks away embarrasse

It works if we go to coalition politics.
That is unacceptable to the right. Their one goal is to end the Republic and install a theocracy.

The center and left do not labor under orders from the theocrats.

Coalition politics could save us. They’re dangerous.

I don't understand why anybody who is cis-gender would care. It makes a big difference to the trans girl. Why fuck with the life of a teenager? Don't you have larger issues to deal with?

I like the theory, but do think it will lead to the trump folks winning. I guess I can see it going either way. It depends on how many republicans are grossed out by what their party has become but refuse to vote dem vs how many decided to drop the republicans and come over already and swap out to the new choice.

I'm not sure what they are trying to be more middle of the road on though? The democrats have moved pretty far in that direction already and rejected the left leaning ideas. I get it for republicans, their team went full retard. Will see what ideas the forward party puts out there, their little blurb reminded me of the socially liberal fiscally conservative Clinton ethos.

I think the centrist republicans this would generally appeal to already left their party, so the base of support it draws from is the big blue tent.

Edit: I don't think this will go anywhere. Yang fizzled hard and nobody else involvex was really a big name, i dont see paul ryan up there yet. My guess is they don't wind up on the ballot. Mixed bag there as we do need more and better choices...but gah, I think the amount of fuckery republicans will do if they get in is huge and sometimes you have to circle the wagon and accept some shit to prevent worse shit.
a new Yang Gang?

You people are proving my point. There definitely is a need for a party other than the Democrats or Republicans. I'm not in the minority either. It's just the extremes on both sides drown out the rational people. I don't tow the far left ideology so I must be a damn right winger. But if I go to that side they call me a liberal. You people are more extreme than you want to admit.

There are many of us that are more concerned about the really important things facing this country to worry about some transgender teen being able to get a tampon in any bathroom they use.

There isn't going to be a country worth living in if we keep going this way. All these stupid feelgood things getting done while all the important things get pushed aside because the radicals on either side can't come to a compromise and get anything substantial done. All they do is say NO! My way or the highway. It's us against them. Pathetic.

And before you reply and say I'm the one that's pathetic I don't give a rats ass. Some of you don't even live in the United States and should be worried about your own house instead of trying to pile on someone that doesn't have the same far left views that you do. I voted for Clinton twice, Obama twice, and Biden. Before that I voted for both Reagan and Bush. I don't have extreme views. I remember a time when politicians were adults and things got done. Now we have idiots wanting to defund the police while crime rates are soaring and assholes that want to take away a womans right to choose.

Let the name calling and personal attacks begin. He's a damn nazi because he doesn't sympathize with a very small number of transgender teens. He's a right winger because he disagrees with me. He's a fool because he's sick of the crap on both sides. Both sides suck.

Defund the police. Dumbest idea ever and it came from the far left. Taking away a womans right to choose is just as dumb and it's the religious whackos on the right pushing it.

Both parties suck balls and I don't want to be associated with the stupidity from either side.

Hopefully the Forward Party draws the real majority in this country and wins congressional seats and the top prize of the Presidency. Then the extremists from both sides can scream and yell all they want and nobody will listen. Most Americans are moderate anyway and most are sick of what's been going on.

Biden is a trainwreck just like trump was. It doesn't matter which of the two parties is in power. They both suck.

Hopefully in 2024 we'll be celebrating a Presidential victory by a third party. A third party can't do any worse than the shitshows from both the Democrats and Republicans and their failed leadership.

if a transgender girl being able to get a tampon in a boy's restroom isn't a major issue, why have you spent four posts arguing about it? :o
maybe both parties do suck, but one sucks SOO much harder than the other one, it shouldn't be hard at all to figure out who to support.
Biden isn't a trainwreck, the American people are a trainwreck. He has done just about everything right, and is still getting shit on.
the economy is in way better shape than it deserves to be in, unemployment is at a record low, people have money in the bank...
the democrats have been passing all the reformative legislation they can shove past the republican foot in the door...
how can you not see all of this? you aren't an idiot, i've talked to you several times about several subjects, you're smarter than this

Oh and Democrats are sending yet more funds to the police. Do you have an issue with that?

Biden is a trainwreck just like trump was. It doesn't matter which of the two parties is in power. They both suck.

So, the Forward Party is going to found itself in culture wars that have absolutely nothing to do with the well being of the majority in this country?
Did Biden cause that? Yes, Democrats. some of them don't think tampons in a boys bathroom is worth more than a second glance. Do you even set foot in High Schools these days? If so, do you hang out in the bathrooms? Your outrage makes absolutely no sense.

So, you say Biden is a train wreck. In real world terms, spell out what you mean by that.

Yeah. Inflation is a real problem and while we can argue how much responsibility Biden has for it, there is no doubt that Biden will be the president who is tasked with getting it under control.

And yeah, this country is entering into ecological disaster due to its non-response to human caused climate change. I might agree with people who say he hasn't done enough. I will also agree that the package addressing climate change is the largest one by far this country has ever put forward. By a long shot. So, not a trainwreck. If we were conducting an employee review, I'd say something like: improvement is needed.

And yeah, BLM riots cause great economic harm to the cities where they happen. Would you say Biden made racial tension worse in 2021/2022? It doesn't seem to me that is true. But in our discussions, to you, a broken window is as bad as cops brutally murdering a Black man. I'll have to let you say how you feel about it. It appears to me that we have not had nationwide protests at anywhere near the level we saw under Trump.

More jobs openings are going unfilled than any time I can recall. Wages are up. Last I checked, the lower 30% wage earners are beating or keeping up with inflation. The job situation looks pretty good.

But yeah. Tampons in bathrooms. So vote Democrats out. Or at least that's your take. Woo hoo, go Forward Party.

Regarding what's going in in Ukraine. I support what Biden is doing. This is all due to Putin's decision. Biden is responding. If you want to pin that cf on Biden and call it a train wreck, I'll be glad to respond.

Oh and Democrats are sending more money to police, not less. You are whining about a minority faction in the Democratic Party, not the mainstream.
