The Goal Is To Get An O...

Hey guys I'm a long time lurker on here but I haven't really posted, especially concerning my own grow. Just been taking in a lot of information from everyone's posts and doing a lot of research. This is my 2nd serious grow, but I've only got one plant that I've had for almost a month and few seedlings that I've been growing on 12/12 lights from about 5 days ago.

I've had this Granddaddy Purple vegging underneath my 600 HPS since January 8th. It's planted in Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil and I just gave it a dose of Grow Big and Big Bloom for the first time about 5 days ago.

I'm LSTing it as you can see, but it's about 12"-15" I'd say. I had to flip the lights 2 days ago to 12/12 in order to beat a time constraint I have to beat at the end of March. Anyways I was just wondering what you guys think of my plant? I'm hoping to reap an ounce from it but you guys think I'll hit it?

I'll keep this updated with pics from the flowering period and my harvest. Peace!

If you want an Oz, you are gonna have to FIM the crap out of it, and veg it for another 2 or so months, with lots of light on it.

It does look pretty weak/not ready for flower. You also know that veg lights are the 5000K+ spectrum.

Yeah I know she's kinda weak and wasn't totally ready to flower, but like I said I have to have it done before the last week of March. Honestly if I even get an 1/2 O I'll be very pleased. And Roberto, yes, I got it from a local dispensary for free with the purchase of a gram. It was only about an inch and a half tall on the 5th when I got her, so she's done some growing. Thanks for the insight guys, I'll be transplanting it tonight into a larger container cuz her roots are growing right out the bottom of the pot I'm currently growing in.

Some updates since the last time I posted. I recently fed her Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom and Molasses with her last feeding (2 days ago).

She's grown a little bit since my last post, here are some pictures.

if your using a 600w hid and did some vegging for a while, you could get 3-5 ounces
Yeah I know but I've really got to chop these by the end of March. I had to put her into 12/12 a little earlier than when I would have liked to.

Is my light too close? I have a 600 watt hps in my 52x26" grow tent. Its got an air cooled hood with a 6 inch can fan. The plants are 9-10" inches away from the hood, but the tips of the leaves are curling down on my bigger girl. I've read a couple places this could a sign of heat stress? Any one else know or seen this?

To see if it is heat stress, add a few thermometers around the canopy of the plant and see what it says. Hopefully you are below 85, ideally 77-78 or so.

So they've been flowering for about 2 weeks now, how about some close up pics of the buds? Then we will know how they are doing. But if all goes super well, you could get more than an ounce by the looks of it. I have seen poorer looking plants do very well before...

Alright thanks duke, I have a thermometer I can throw in there tomorrow. Lights are off for another 9 hours at this point, so it'll have to wait til morning.

I'll take a few pix of some of the bud sites, too. They all got a few hairs popping outta them now, but it'll only be day 11 12/12 tomorrow so its nothing too substantial.

Ok so I was going to take a few pix of the buds today to post them since they are finally starting to get some mass to them...but then I saw something that sent shivers down my spine. Fucking little balls next to my incoming pistils. I couldn't get a close up since my phone camera kinda sucks, but I plucked a few off and took a pic of them. Are these little balls the signs of a hermie? I really, really hope not but I think they are, I just don't want to face the truth...

Those are definitely pollen sacs.

Son of a bitch! That sucks! Fuck it though I'm growing it out since its my only big plant. fuck im pissed...

Grow it far away from any other females you may have. Otherwise those pollen sacs will open up and pollenate the females, giving you seeds and reducing potency/yield.

In fact, let your cats eat it. That is what I do with any males/hermies.

Ha I'm allergic to cats, I can't stand being around them. I'll put it in a separate room today so it doesn't mess up my other seedlings. Sucks cuz the buds are just starting to come in and they're lookin real nice but I know they're gonna be seedy as shit.

In my limited experience, there seem to be degress of hermies. I had one on my first grow that was hermie, but still produced the most. All her seeds turned out male, though.
