WNY there has been no frost and the three days of dark and rain killed me. gotta say though i gave em a haircut, and the rest im gonna leave to finish, see what happens. the next week isnt supposed to be too bad, so the advice im hearing from my friends who grow here is october 10. if i can leave em in till then i will be rewarded, i am told. we'll see.

F**KING ROT EH?

This weather has been shitty beyond belief... had a touch of snow the other day but still no real frost so the Afgani's are still running on. Pulled the leavings off three Northern Lights yesterday, left the lower stuff run after the second haircut and still got 14Z wet weight. I was very happy with the yield of this strain and will be sure to grow some indoor.

So far so good, yield is fine, now that I am down to just a few plants I won't have to worry about the freaking helicopters and planes.

I wonder.... New York should lend the feds some of our spotters, those bastards can spot two plants around a pond at 500 feet. send them over to Afghanistan put 'em in a plane and I bet Bin Laden is found within hours....

Fucking mold, fucking planes, fucking rain...

Time for a bowl...

So sorry to hear of all your trials and tribulations. I am quite a sad boy myself now too. First real season went from 30 down to 2 plants now. Animals, bugs, underwatering.... and now this. I have just learned that my prized purple white widow has died of an unknown cause. Bent over like an animal got to it or somethin. Now its 5 more days till I can harvest. Lets hope that the one day of forecasted sun and wind will dry the poor things out a bit. And hope for no mold.

One of my strains now is covered with pink hairs!! anyone ever seen/ heard of this? Ive seen one of greenthumbs pink strains- somethin like a native american name

good luck to you all

Allright. So apart from the shitty weather and mold taking my favortie cola things are going good. But holy fuck are there alot of choppers lately. I can't tell if there military or news or what. What is the deal with these? what should I be looking for? Has anyone ever had problems or is urban myth? Is it true they have like crazy space age thermal detectors?

Should I be purchasing a tarp or some sort of anti aircraft gun??? just kidding. kind of.

they do have thermal detectors, but they only use them in areas where growing is well known and its hard to spot with the naked eye. from what ive been told (depends on where you live i guess) its easier to be found by a neighbor or passer-bys then by a chopper flying over. i live in a very rural area back sorta in the woods so i dont think id ever be found unless they fly over with thermal detectors. so it raises the question, do lots of people grow by you?

My area has a lot of growers, flyovers are a pain in the ass! White fed plane with thermal and state LEO in their marked rig.

I was told that locally, the state popo uses a color blind guy to spot, he can see the herb plants standing out like a spotlight... shades of grey......

Popped two fields of 1200 plants and 1400 last year, have not heard of any weight going down this year, but then again, when they bring in the Border Patrol, State LEO and all the nasties to rip out plants, I fer shure don't go to watch them... shit, it makes me cry....

Choppers all over wny too. I havent heard of many 2 plant busts though. Small plane flyovers too. I worry less abt those than I do abt the mold taking some of my best nuggs! I had pink pistils on one of my girls, it's definitely some serious smoke. I smoked some early haircut with my buddy and he was amazed! When it's dry it smells like blueberry or fruit loops. Mold really affecting that one.

wow theres sun light outside for once! lol... put my girls back out yesterday for a bit of light, and i got em out again today hoping it will get them closer to finishing up. ive yet to see choppers still around here, but my college had some cops and a drug sniffing dog at it the other day, was a little scary lol.

im thinking i got most of the mold under control now, i still see it every so often but not as bad as it was before. maybe with the sunlight and a light breeze today it will dry them out enough to prevent mold from getting on them again.

i'd say the purple strain is done, looks great!
sadly, i think they are all done, the weather looks bad, you can try hanging on and hope for the indian summer, crap shoot that
after you cut, need to get them where they will dry out quickly, at least from the outer wet, probably should hang the buds by string in your drying area

All in all done as of yesterday.

I have no problem with pulling in the rain, don't want to but...

I shake hell out of the branches, cut and bag then hang and watch for mold while hanging and have had minimal problems, most of the mold was already in the inner bud at the stem and I cut that out in the second trimming when I de-bag the harvest.

Well, another fun year in NY is over and in the dry room, the best thing is no freakin tickets for "growing cannibis without a license"!

Yield was diminished by thieves, rot, slugs but I am happy with the results overall. Next year will be only a few scattered girls just because... the stash for my head will be generated indoor .

Hope my fellow Upstate growers get the same stupid looking grin I have..

im still hangin in there for them to put on some more weight before i pull em. thinking of cutting the sativa cuz the buds look kida big but i think i can wait, and the indica is finnally putting on some weight so hopefully in the next day or so of light i might be able to get a good harvest this year.

one of my buddys has a farm house in upsate ny with a shit load of land. im probally not spelling it right but he has a house in cobaskill. would be so easy to grow up there. i keep telling him we should move up there for a summer and just grow patches of like 5 all through out the fields

i only had two plants this summer, and it was my first grow, one was male and the other was female. they one is still in the process of growing, i started outside and now its inside because the NY weather sucks this summer. Also, it is a Sativa plant which does take longer but gnats here are a pain, but i got most of them away with the tobacco spray people recommended. and i am 3 months strong with my plant and hopefully just another month to go because it is blossoming some great buds :)
