You can take clones from clones forever. A clone is just that. a 100% genetic copy of it's parent. No loss occurs.

Buddydro- Welcome to the weed farmers subculture. As you have already discovered, now that you have started you will likely never stop. Please let me and everyone else here know if you have any questions. Your plants look fine for this stage in hempy. They will be a little slow and wierd till the tap hits the res. :joint:

You bet. They will work fine
For the hempy bucket do you need to use rockwool to start a seed, or could you just put the seed into the perlite verm mix?

Also ive had a hard time being able to glue a screen on successfully without getting glue everywhere. What could i do inplace of a screen to get the same effect? Thanks!

Start in RW or rapid rooter and wait for good roots before going in to hempy. Hempy is slowed at first in the time it takes for the root to get to the bottom of the pot. Lots of good roots in a starter medium will help minimize that.

Just cut a larger piece of screen, hold it over the hole and when you fill the bucket with your mix it will hold the screen in place. I just use a smaller drill bit, and drill about 5 holes close together; this works like a screen, no perlite falls out. Truthfully, after the perlite becomes well moistened, it tends not to fall out of the hole anyway, so it's no big deal whether you have a screen in place or not.

I would not plant your seed directly in the perlite. The perlite is coarse and your seed need to be planted shallowly. Watering could disturb your new roots before they are well supported and light could filter through and bother new root growth. Rockwool or starter plugs are the way to go.

I got two girls in a hempy cup right now. They seem to be growing, slowly but they are moving. One of them has some burn on her; I got a fan in there and temps are 73-36 degrees. I use spring water and do not water them too often. I am not adding any nuts and the mg perlite does not have much if anything in the way of nutes.

Here are the pics, maybe overwatering?

the temps in there was at 83-85 before the fan but now the temps are pretty stable at 76 (it has been on for two days at those temps)

Sorry for being a pest guys...i know i know but you are my best source....I need you guys!!!.lol.

I promise this is my last question and after that you guys will only hear from me when i start my grow journal on here.

I understand the hempy grow for the most part, but im just wanting a solid answer because every seem to do there own thing with this method.

-when you start off seedling/clones you only water them with ph corrected water for 2 weeks, correct?

-after 2 weeks and once you have rooted clones/seedling you can start feeding them nutes w/ water but at 1/2 strenght, correct?

if above answer is correct, then for how long half strengh nutes? (as far as i remember reading around they say the entire veg period 1-2 months, correct?

after this 1-2 month i can now move up to full strenght nutes w/ water , correct?

if above answer correct, how long i feed them and how often?

Im sorry guys this is throwing me off and need a solid answer, please help a poor noob!

1. You should only use water the first three weeks. I am on week two and only using water. I can tell you, they grow SLOW when u put the seed in perlite alone. My next hempy, I will start in a peat pellet then go from there. BTW, I use spring water and I do not ph anything. I am not going to over analyze.

2. start at 1/4 strength week 4 and the schedule is water, water heavy, feed, water, etc. Increase to 1/2 if they seem good the following week, keep that until you get to full strength.

if you veg for two months, you technically would be nut for a month in veg and in flower.

This is what I am going to do based on all of the knowledge here.

good luck!

You can read my grow journal as I started last week (with pics)

Hey rippey thank bro.

When you say water, feed, wate heavy what does that mean exactly....dont you mix youre nutes with correct amount of water? and wouldent this be considered feeding/watering at the same time?

or do you have to feed them with nutes alone and then water them fully?

Please enlighten a noob!!!thanks guys you are great help!

Watering, just make sure that the roots are getting water. this is like a 'light'watering. when I do this (especially in the beginning) I am only watering to make sure the roots are getting water since they are not reaching the rez (the part under the hole)

Water Heavy means that you are watering it and that the rez is full of water and getting 'refreshed.' you do not want stale water in there, plus is aerates the water too.

Feeding is like wateringheavy but there are nuts diluted in the water. So Water (with just water), Water Heavy (water so some of water comes out of the rez hole), then feed (make sure some water comes out of the whole so the rez has some nutes)

You are not going to water everyday and maybe not every other day. This cycle may be one week. Water on Sunday, Water heavy on Tuesday and feed on Friday. Something like that is very realistic.

At the end though, dont over analyze this stuff. You are going to use your gut on 90% of things (just like I am). Post pics when they are not green (yellow, blue, brown) as that is a sign of something and he experts here can help you out.

hey, I am a noob too so we are both gonna learn.

Its been a week now since I switched from crappy mg soil to 100% ff perlite. I was having a serious problem with gnats in soil but now thats over. I wanna thank Az and this hempy collection thread for making it seem easy enough for me. I have posted pic of my 16 toddlers. I hope to switch to flowering when they get to about 14" or so. They seem ok but I've seen them happier. Hopefully in about another week, I can transfer to 1gal. pots. Suggestions, comments would be appreciated. ;-) Easy
