The HK Journey

I have decided to do another journal. My roommate and I are both involved in maintaining this garden. The seeds are Hindu Kush and are from nirvana seed shop, a couple of the seeds looked different so we will see what happens. This is a soil grow and our medium consists of Premier Pro-Mix Tree & Shrub Planting Mix, Triple Mix, and Perlite. For now we are using 6 27w 6500k cfls for vegging these plants, i think they are 1660 lumens each. On June 1 we put 7 Hindu Kush seeds for germination (wet paper towel method).
Two days later all 7 seeds were ready for soil and planted into saturated jiffy pellets. June 6, all 7 are now tiny sprouts and the roots had started to come out the bottom of the peat pellets. We planted them into 6 inch pots and moved them under the lights. The plants were lightly watered daily for the first few days, and then were soaked on the 13th (with 5.8 pH water by accident)Oops. Today they were looking a bit droopy and the soil is getting quite dry so we watered with 6.5 pH rain water.

Good to see you back and journaling again toke.

What lighting setup are you going to use throughout this time.

Do you plan to flower with the cfls again?

i was wandering where you got the light fixtures from and how mush they cost.

so 6 23w cfls will do vegging nicely? no stretching or what?

Here are a few pics of what we have so far...

1st pic was taken a few mins ago with only the two middle cfls on. I don't think it turned out too good.

I am having trouble loading them.

I got the light fixtures from home depot, 3 sockets with 3 Y's, only costs a few bucks.

They seem to be doing fine so far.

Today is 15th day since they sprouted. Once again they are Hindu Kush and in 6 inch pots. They were watered this morning with rain water pH'd to 6.5 . I am having problems uploading pics

I just seen that my there was something against my timer and it has been stuck on 24hrs a day for an unknown period of time(possibly 1 week). That's probably why my temps have been slightly higher then usual for the past week or so.
Should i go back to 18/6 or stick with 24/0 for the remainder of the vegging?

wb major. I'll have to follow sparodically. Spending my time gathering sigs to put medical mj on my states ballot for 2008. 550,000, 180 days. Krystal wants to be done in 150 days and would be elated with 120 days. Polititians are waiting to comment after they see if we can put it on the ballot. Wow, didn't see that coming.
Michigan folks we need your support. There are a lot of uneducated people out there. Web site is Michigan Coalition for Compassionate Care. VV

We had a slight problem. A few weeks back the plants were accidently watered with 5.8pH and we started to see the effects. I think we got it under control now though. The plants range from 6" to 7" tall and all are about 9" wide. The stems are getting quite beefy and new growth everyday looks good. We will transplant as soon as we get some larger pots.

That Kush is so dark green and bushy. day 20, crazy growth. Im starting to doubt the efficiency of hydro compared to soil. I see alot of you vets using it and the plants seem to grow as fast or faster.

Thanks, i'll take that as a compliment. I put the hydro on hold for now(just got 1 Hindu Kush female in DWC), because i'm working alot of hours. Yeah they are growing quite good, about as fast as my hydro. I could almost clone these things already...
