Thankin' you, hopefully that's what I'll get haha I'm shocked I've got this far when I read through some of the horror stories on this site of people getting expensive strains and having them fail, I got mine from crispy old seed weed. I have the ak autoflower in beside it too but I checked it today (4th day in the pot) and nothing's happening so I think after work I'm gonna do the wet paper towel thing and see what happens.

Luc I didn't see your post until after I wrote my last 1, thanks for the compliment.

In future if your transfering your plants into bigger pots you should cut the bottom off the wee pot, plant it in the big pot and let the roots come down themselves, less stress for them since they aren't being taken from one pot to another :) apparently 5ltr pots are the recommended size for autoflowers.

Although the plant in the pictures is in a bucket for the ak's I got 3 5ltr pots in the pound shop along with the cocoa stuff (2 blocks) and compost, £5, £2 for tomato plant feed, the rest is patience and telling her she looks beautiful everyday :D

hi
tell me about it, evary day when we get up me and the mrs both go in and have a look at the plants to see how much they have grown, i never thought id get this into it. you can kind of see why old people love gardeing so much. the tomato feed i was looking at today and it looks fine, i think a few of the lads are using it. the pots that my plants sre in now are a bit small, 2 litre or something so i got the 5 litre pots today. i think ill try what u said because i know it can upset them a bit changing pots.
cheers for the info and good growing fella.
the paper towel thing may be your best bet, do you put it in between 2 plates and then into the dark?

In all honesty dude I just put it in the soil direct, there's plenty of moisture and dark but I think this time around it didn't work, only another 4 hours until I finish here anyway then I'll do the paper towel so by saturday I should see some progress.

I know what you mean by gettin' into it I thought the exact same thing, I had an old neighbor where I grew up who gardened all the time, his names bill, I even used to go in and help him and his wife in the garden...when I started setting up properly and giving it a proper go I slapped myself on the forehead and said "aw naw I'm turnin' into bill!"

Nice plants mick, i feel a whitey is coming your way and it's gonna be free, lol.
Lol! Nothing like a free whitey! :)

Richie would you not be better building a mini shed using a panel from one of your mini greenhouses as the top and front so the light still gets in? Means then you can ventilate the box and if you need heat then it'll be easier to work with as it won't all be glass or plastic (whatever your greenhouses are made from)

I know what ya mean doire, its a little plastic greenhouse. At the moment i have the sides rolled up just to let a bit of air flow in but still at night you can see the condinsation on the roof and that cant be good you know. Im just going to pack the thing in and put it back on when theres rain forcast. I have another hollands hope outdoors in a mates house and theres not a sighn of mold on her yet. Im realy starting to suspect the greenhouse is the problem.

I know where your comming from richie afterall the plastic isn't porus so no water that got in is gonna get out, my mum offered me one of those greenhouses but I didn't bother with it but I was thinkin' after that I could have used it for something else that's why I mention it to you now. Easy way to heat it up then is to heat up bricks (not full housebricks more like beach bricks) and put them at the bottom of your box outside, a while on the radiator should do or if it's summer then leave the bricks out in the sun and put them in at night, it'll stay warm enough so the plants don't get cold in the wee hours, not so hot you risk burning anything (except your hands) and no fire hazard.

Sounds like a cornie idea but have you ever felt the heat that concrete gets when it's roastin' outside...simple man simple ideas haha

Think this time I've finally learnt my lesson not to over-feed my plants.....

So long as I have some for Christmas I won't mind... Must do the home brew soon too if its to be ready..

Well 4 of my 6 ladies have broken soil. When i seen it was 4 i was worried that the other 2 were the 2 that i put straight in to soil but 1 of those has broken through, so happy days i would think the other 2 will go over night.

has any one got an answer for my Q about leaving my other plant in with the autos on 18/6. Will it just stay in veg or will it just take it longer to fully mature

Your plant will change back to veg no prbs under that light and then flower when you change back to 12/12

Cheer Jay, But will it do any damage to it, will the buds still keep growing or will it go total veg because i plan on trying to run a constant 6 auto system on 18/6

It will return to veg growth as long as you run 18/6 cycle for your autos.. If your autos take 8-9 weeks from seed then this is how long you will veg for, unless you manually move and remove your plant so she gets 12/12... Bit like Darren did at one stay..

If you do plan to keep her vegging whilst your autos finish off then I'd recommend a bigger planter as that plant is gonna get big..!!

Not to metion that if you have your plant on a light cycle where it's started to flower and you bring it back to veg you run the risk of panicing the woman and making her into a hermie. Apparently it thinks it will have no chance to get pollinated and do it itself although I could be wrong and that is a symptom of flowering them too early...not 100% so I'd check it out, if it were me I wouldn't want to risk anything happening so jay would have the right idea...take it in and out of the grow box so it gets 12/12.

Hey lads. Just going to post a couple of pics of what can be done even with irish weather. These 13ft monsters need about 3 more weeks of good weather and if we can avoid some frost we're in for some major harvesting

In the second picture youn see the top of my friends head at the square I cut out. Hes just under 6ft tall

Theres a few different strains, 8 plants. All feminised Dutch passion. 5 Hollands hope, 1 Twilight ( the purple one) 1 skywalker, 1 strawberry cough, They've all showed a touch of purple and i think thats down to the temperatures. The weather has played havoc with them. Alot of breakages and falling over but they're struggling through
