The leaf whirl

ya i have a few extra bottles also,im trying them one at a time.so far fulvic acid is a keeper.

If you have NEVER tried coco and are a soil person, try it, you won't go back to soil.

:wall:
Lies, evil lies!:fire:

I hated Coco years ago. I would hate it now....:cuss:

Soil rules! I create better tasting material and can just about match any increase in yield by any "hydro" method (yes, coco is an inert media grow style condsidered as hydro, same for a straight peat media.) I might take a bit longer but, not enough to make hydro my choice...

Soil is forgiving! Far more so for novice growers over any hydro style....

Soil is water and walk away.....Any hydro style is more work..... I can rig up my Blu-Mat system and take a vacation, and never worry about how my plants are doing... I never have to meter pH, and basically never have to pH solutions either......

As for the Mg sulfate supplement I gave you..... Yes you can run it with a Ca/Mg. It is a different Mg compound, most likely. The S it's self will do some nice things for you.. I say use it because of the benefits of using a sulfate.....

Keep in mind the Ca compound you use in Coco is a factor in what one you choose..... A Calcium nitrate will add some N and be a bit more plant available. A calcium carbonate will buffer pH better and still have acceptable plant availability, and deliver less N with use in Coco...... If you ever feel your pH is not as stable as you would like.....use a Ca Carbonate based Ca/Mg.

Ya I’m with you jt coco is much easier then dirt. The dirt guys don’t understand that us novice growers don’t understand all that’s involved with dirt. It’s not just buy some dirt and water.
With coco it’s feed feed feed flush every time and it works. Why were not exactly sure but we get results and that’s what we want. Plants grow like hell so it makes us feel like we no what we’re doing, lol.
On top of all that your more involved with hydro.more things to look at and maintain, keeps us busy.
Think of stamp collecting as a hobby. Ya boring. Like growing in dirt.
No disrespect to the dirt guys. They know what’s going on and understand all the little details.

do a little research and you'll know why....coco isn't mysterious, it's easy to understand how it works if you do a little reading. the biggest thing that throws people off is why and how long you need to supplement cal mag...figure that out and you've got the biggest mystery dealt with

Perhaps I should have written in differently. But the point is for us novice guys coco is easier then dirt. Not all of us have time to fully understand all that’s involved with horticulture. Yes I would like to and my time here has taught me a bunch and it will continue too. But I’ll still pick hydro / coco over dirt for indoor.

Yes that’s the mystery.i just keep on keeping on.

wait you flush every third feeding? I havent flushed once. I just feed with a shit ton of run off every time. I make sure what is left in the coco is what I just put in. PPM's out are always 60-80 ppm less than what I just put in which is a good thing. If coming out was higher than what I just put in than I know I have a build up happening.

Ya I never was good at righting, flush or runoff every feed.Thats what makes it so easy.Small pots so u dont use much food

Your too busy being afraid of something you shouldn't be.

What's involved with dirt that isn't with Coco? I don't pH all the time. I don't have to worry about adding Ca, or Mg (unless the strain likes more Mg)..

As long as you don't use Mir. Grow soil......It's simple as you can get....

Coco works for you. GREAT.... do it!

Soil IS easier then Coco.. It produces far better terp profiles and add's many things that you just can't deliver with any hydro style....

You might cheat mother nature...but, you ain't beating her.....

If you like to work hard, in a farm setting, and need a job?
Drop me a line.

Organic farm co-op covering 6 farms

Looking for cheese makers
General farm hands
Dairy tech's

Meat processing experience is a bonus.

And someone with an Agronomy BS for our Grain and Produce operations.

We are presently looking at purchasing an Ice cream operation. Organic ice cream will be taking off soon.....Just another way to use our organic dairy production.
So accepting resume's from ice cream makers. Must have volume experience.....

Hmm, stoner ice cream makers? Maybe not the best idea....lol

You still get a .

Worked a farm? Likely why your at not wanting a job.....:hump:

Takes a special person to farm...

Mostly we pick up FFA and 4H kids for summer spots.
A good crop of College kids too. Mostly one's from attending lecture's I've done during the school year.

Specialty positions have been going to grad students for the most part. Still have strong ties to MSU and the farm extension system they run.

I still have Tom,Tom as my #2. She moved to the farm op's after the great cop infestation of a few years ago...She's back in post grad - Going for her MS in Agronomy.. Writing her paper now....FINE work too! She's focusing on Monocot production and soil amending/building in depleted field situations.... She deals a lot with Barley and Rye for the brewing and distilling end of our grain production operations.

With the micro brew industry beginning to focus on the organic. We simply can't grow enough to keep up with demand... We certified 2 more grain operation farms this fall.... The projected harvest has already been contracted out to BELL'S in Kalamazoo and FOUNDER'S in Grand Rapids
Several other brewers are pushing us to dedicate some older dry bean fields to Hops production.... Organic- local Hops is exploding in premium value returns! We are looking to get a tract of organic certified land near Saugatuck to convert to 160 acres of Hops farms....

This grain and brewing/distilling thing is changing the face of organic farming in our area....While we still cover the food aspect in store/farmers market and Health/Natural food store markets.
The grain end of the business has drastically changed to a massive profit monster....

The 3 of us that first banded together to go organic and increase our farm profits.....Are thrilled with how an unexpected part of the co-op is now taking over as the focus of the operational profits!

Peace on Rog!

very nice, it's good to hear about some success in farming, instead of the usual fare of how trump is making it much harder than it should be....

OH yeah..
In case someone ask's My local fav's?

Founder's ALL DAY IPA session ale! LOVE that stuff!

BELL's Two Hearted is my fav' there. The wife loves Oberon.

Nothing like living between the #1 and #2 voted "BEER CITY USA" :hump:

It's the nitche market that will see the best growth in profits for the non corporate, non mega farm farmer.

Not going to mention how much we have grown into in these last years, beyond what we imagined in the beginning.

We have now grown to have the 2 kids of one of us originals, as now running the dairy and meat operations. The young lady has really made her mark in the beef and poultry operations.
Her brother runs the dairy operation. FINE adults now with their own families.

My youngest has changed his focus and has been working with Tom,Tom.....He's a year out of his BS
The oldest has been learning micro biology and has taken a serious shine to distilling (no pun intended) over brewing. He feels the brewing arena is beginning to get very full. He's been working at a distillery in Kalamazoo while attending college. He has formulated a very, very complex tasting GIN that will market this coming summer. He still owns the formula and is in the process of getting a patent on it.... Look out Hendrick's !!! He gets his BS this year. He is slated to become a full partner in the distillery at graduation. This place features our farm products on their menu!

Look I tired 3 grows with ffof and failed horribly. I got harvests but they sucked honeslty. I seem to have a good grasp on the coco though much much healthier plants. I just suck with soil than.

look for the common factor....FFOF....many people seem to have trouble with it. experienced growers seem to use it....maybe not the best choice to start learning with. get some non amended soil at a garden center, and amend it yourself.
get some plain soil and cut your ffof with it about 50-50...they cram way too much shit into ffof, especially for growers inexperienced with using soil.
that being said, i prefer coco myself. i don't deny that you can get a more complex terpene profile with soil, or a higher brix count. but to me, once you figure coco out, the advantages aren't great enough to outweigh the much faster growth coco is capable of. i still get good smelling, good tasting, potent weed, at least two to three weeks faster than i would have gotten in soil. what i would have grown in soil may have been 5% better, more potent, maybe 5% tastier...and taken 2 to 4 weeks longer to get. if i had more space, i would keep a few running in soil, for the strictly organic crowd, and just to have the variety for myself, and to be able to make the comparisons first hand, but i just don't have the room at the moment.

You don't need much cal-mag to fix the twist and cupping of GG#4. More as @Dr.Who stated you need more mag. without the extra N your getting from a cal-mag product.
I only use 1 ml a gallon for my RO water before adding my hydro nutrient's
