@McFrosticles - You will be fine. You could have let them them get twice as tall before you brazilled them though. A trick I have seen is to use low fluorescent lighting to get them to stretch a bit more when they are squatty like that. Less light = more stretch.
Good info! I am sold on HLG QB's, and seeded and veged my last one under a 135. It did great, but I keep getting short stocky plants. I bought one of their 65w for seeds and clones though, so that might be the ticket.

Day 10 of 12/12 for the gorilla zkittlez. Think they'll be needing a major defolation next weekend. but I'm unsure of what to keep and what to throw, I've got loads of shoots on some of the plants that are pretty tall in the middle of the manifold so am I keeping those or not. Any advice will be greatly appreciated

IMHO...
start from the lowest point on each branch and snip one node, leaf and shoot.

It is starting to flower, so don't snip anything you might want to keep and flower - you can still snip it later - you can't put it back :)

If all I want is big buds to cure instead of a mix of stuff, there is a period a week or so after the flip where some sprouts start stacking, but others (smaller-stem ones) have added another node before the flowers. If I want big buds, I'm snipping those - the sooner the better, but don't be too hasty LOL

Cheers m8 nice one I'll probably put a few pics on next weekend while I'm doing it on one plant so I know I'm not butchering it lol.

bug me all you want, I'm retired. That said, the reason I said snip one node starting from the bottom is that it could never hurt. Any lower shoots that have a stem about an inch long or so will now put energy towards flowering. Their stems will not grow, especially if they already have a second node to support.

I'll take a few close up pics after of what's what, and I can't find where you've quoted me on so reading back through the super skunk manifold good reading there

This is my first mainlining , she's been vegging a about 2 months ,its ETHOS , Inzane membrane , a little slow out of the gate but has since picked up . I'm growing in a 4 x 4 tent , when should I flip ? she's 25 " across about 12 " from the soil to top of colas , don't know how much she'll stretch and I don't want to run out of room . also would like to be finishing up in June before the heat comes ,

advice welcomed !

I'm mainlining , I have shoots coming off the main colas couple nodes up , scraggly ones should I snip off before flipping ? thanks

Depends on what you want. I have tried having just the 8 main cola, and got bigger fatter buds, but fewer. I did like the one in your picture, same seeds, same size pot, and got almost exactly the same yield, but more small stuff. If the stems on them are skinny looking compared to others around them, ditch them and the rest on that limb will get fatter. Looking at your plant, don't look at the whole thing. look at each limb. If there is more stuff on it, it will have smaller flowers. try for yourself. I did on one grow, and had each limb doing a different thing. some with lots of shoots, some with just tops, some that got re-topped etc. The weight per limb stayed pretty much the same.

As far as flipping, it is whenever you want after the roots are established and the plant is how you want it. I know that's a suck answer, but it's an art, not a science. You can flip it now and it will be fine, you can wait a few weeks and it will be fine, but different...

not sure on the stretch on the izane membrane , I heard 2 x 3 x , just don't want to run out of room height wise . its in a 5 gal. what was your yield with the 8 colas ?

So far, in a 5 gallon I have averaged 5oz, in a 3 gallon 3oz. Weird right? No matter how they were trained or how many shoots left on it has ended up about the same. I have 4 seedlings I am growing for a contest, in 2 gallon pots. If I average 2oz per pot I am giving up on all intense training LOL

So for me, a 4-top manifold and a lot less hassle might be the way to go ;)

As far as the stretch after you flip. From what I have read, Sativa will almost triple in height, indica about double - with no training to keep it down.

thats what I was averaging with 5 gal . growing Jetfuel 5 oz. just topping a couple of times and Lollipopping , ting them down as to not out grow my 2 x4 . now I have a 4x4 , curious then measure 12'' fro top of soil to top of colas , about how much more in height will she add , 12 " per say ? and yes 4 top would be easier and lot less veg. time . Took this girl 2 months to get where she's at . looks to have more kinda , nice wide fan leaves .

Check my page. I have a monster-cropped clone that I am treating like a manifold training-wise, even though it isn't one. It-s a little bigger than yours as far as stem thickness, but pretty close size wise if you want to see how I do what I do.

Looks great , I use for farm also , every water every other day , I see you run your temp at 74 . Its hard for me to keep it down in the summer , even with the central air running gets mid eighties in the tent , even with 6" exhaust . might have to get a free standing air conditioner , I ' d use window , but have Anderson crank out windows . Guess mine being 12 " at top of cola I'm gonna flip them , trying to get done before hot azz June and July get here . But yours looked great ! Just under the 1 hlg 135 ?

Wow! lotsa Q's :) I got my lights from Growers Lights. I had been veging under a 135, then flowering under a 260. then I realized that the 260 is exactly the same as 2 135's, and I was growing 2 plants under them, and crowding them together to get one under each board LOL. I bought another 135 and made a flower room. Now using a 65 for seeds and clones.

But now I can flower in both rooms if needed.

My temps have been fluctuating from the mid 60's at night to 80's. I have quit worrying that much about it unless it gets to the extremes. Humidity same thing. It's been in the 30's with the furnace running which is easy to fix with domes for young'uns, but I try to just get them acclimatized to whatever is happening instead of babying them too much - too much of a job then.
