Paper did represent gold until we went off the gold standard, now they can simply print more causing inflation and devaluing all currency...

I know, that is why the Libertarian party was formed if I am not mistaken. And it's illegal for anyone else to circulate their own printed currency, there are a few towns in America that have been allowed to break that rule though.
