a chap driving to work one morning get's killed by a falling oak tree
the chap owns a timber yard that just deal in oak.

I think that example is coincidence.
I have trouble differentiating the 2.

but how about the O. Henry story gift of the Magi.
The guy sales his watch to buy comb for his wife, but she sales her hair to buy a chain for her husbands watch. Something like that.
 
lol I thought that was a pretty good example mine would have to be when I went up state I ended up getting cellied up with one of my best friends I haven't seen in about 10 years turns out he was in there and we ended up getting out around the same time and started chilling again.

there's a news story that's kicking about in the uk today bob, i can't remember what it was but i remember saying how ironic it was...might've been to do with the northern irish first minister's wife's affair but i can't remember..
