I just finished my new Flood/Drain system.
I built a Turbogarden knockoff. The props go to Fleshstain over at Marijuana Passion.com I copied his unit but I will be making improvements. The original is here http://www.marijuanapassion.com/forum/showthread.php/48850-Turbogarden-Ebb-amp-Flow-knockoff?p=564934&viewfull=1
I decided on Flood/Drain because its a great system for beginners and experts alike. I just cannot afford the $300 price tag for a name brand. I will be using Hydroton for media. This unit floods in 2.5min and is drained within 6min. I left the walls high so they can accommodate a bigger pot.
So here goes.
Parts List ---
Flood/Drain Fittings http://www.hydroponics.net/c/523 $5.20
Sub Pump http://www.hydroponics.net/i/131590 14.97
Pots http://www.hydroponics.net/i/132004 $1ea x 14 = $14.00
Air Stone Walmart 3.97
1/4in hose Walmart 2.97
1/2in hose Home Depot Already had (probably $2 at local hydro shop
Air Pump Pet Store Already had (maybe $15 just about anywhere
Containers Home Depot less than $12each
Hydroton $15
-----
Total = about $100
Not bad for a Turbogarden that actualy holds 25 gallons in the res. These tubs are rated for 750lbs
so the top is not going to fall in on the other. They don't leak and light wont be much of an issue for the res. Sorry but I didnt have time for a tutorial. I will add to this thread when I do an update to the system. I have a quick connect planned for the fittings already.
