Just wanted to ask ya a wee question about using epsom salts with coco.

Im hand watering and mixing canna coco A+B nutes in 2ltr bottles. How much epsom salts do you recommend per bottle my man?

Had to buy some due to a slight mg def showing it self.

Oh I just had a look at a tin of black treacle I was using in a past soil grow. It has high Cal and Mg content, could it be used as Cal-Mg supplement mixed with Canna A+B?

I have a question for jberry,

this is my first grow with coco and Canna COCO nutes, and I want to know from an experienced coco grower what their harvest/curing / flushing schedual is?

how to flush?
flush with distilled or very low ppm drinking water?
and for how long to flush?
I am almost at 7 weeks flowering time with my indicas, querkle and purple kush.

i have tried flushing for as long as 12 days, and all the plants were totally yellow from deficiency and the smoke tasted great (everyone noticed) BUT i lost a lot of weight!! I usually only flush for like 4 days and that is enough to fade the fan leaves and it still tastes good and everything (coco flushes much faster than soil).

U can use tap water or even a very low dose nute (like 1ml per gal of A+B) or you can even use RO water if you arent going to reuse the coco and arent worried about you beneficial bacteria.

anyhow 3-7 days is pretty good.

Can anyone tell me if somethings wrong with my plant? the leaves have been curled/droopy since about 2 weeks ago. i water every other day when the pot gets light. i have been having problems with my temps, they vary from 76-85 and the humidity is 30% cuz its winter and my house is dry. it seems to be growing fine, its green and no burn spots. no matter what i do it always looks droopy

im sure it is the low humidity along with possible over watering and maybe even slighty high temps.

i would start with the humidity and back off watering.

i havent used epson salts very much either so i guess i cant really be much help on this one.

The treacle is called Lyles Black Treacle and is a form of molasses used quiet alot in the uk as an alternative to black strap molasses.

ah, i say go for it, but dont use too much or you will get some funky algae shit in your rez.

if you have a ppm meter than add the LBT first and keep track of how much the ppm's go up... i would start with 100-150 ppm if possible, but that could be waay too much molasses for all i know? It may not even regester on the meter if it is organicly derived?

When i have used molasess in the past i only used like 2 Tablespoons per 25 gallons of water, but ive read reports on here of people using as much as a 1/4 teaspoon per gallon.Too much for too long seems to effect the taste iof the end product in a ill way.

anyhow, i guess go for it if u dont have traditional cal/mag product u can use.

Hey there Jberry. Excellent thread!

I have a little question about Cannazym. I use a mix of coco, and peat. I don't run the Canna line, but I do the new formula of Cannazym I bought recently. Is it advisable to use cannazym with coco and peat mixed together? I heard it was good to keep the root system healthy and it helps keep soil microbiology in good condition.

Is it true that it also releases locked up macro and micro nutrients in the soil for plant uptake? Sounds quite beneficial for anyones grow.

you can use it in any medium or hydro as far as i know.

and yes it does make unavailable nutrients available.

these days i only running it once a week or so.

Yea the LBT is 100% organic so I dot think it will have any major effect on ppm, which is nice if it does the trick.

Il do a feed with some of the treacle along with the A+B in the morning and report back

This is my first grow and I have chosen canna coco, this stuff is great! currently my plants are 5 weeks old, i started with blue mystic seeds, and they seem very healthy. They all have whats called preflowers I believe. I dont want to change the light cycle as of yet, but is there anyway to know their sex before initiating the flowering stage?? And how do you feel about swithcing the light cycle when they are at week 6?

I purchased rhizotonic and cannazym to be used together in a 56 site aeroponic cloner.
The unit holds 40 litres.

Do you recommend using the 2 products simultaneously when aerocloning ?

The website listed the mixing as :

rhizotonic - 40 ml / 10 litres

cannazym - 25 ml / 10 litres

Any help is greatly appreciated

6 to 8 weeks sounds good to me, but any time after they show preflowers is okay.

Hey Jberry, this is some damn good info you got goin on here.
After readin this thread quite a few times I'm really convinced to give coco a shot. I've also been a fan of the dream for the past few years. Just wanted to know what I'm up against watering wise when I make the switch. Do you have to water every day in those 2 gallon pots?? I was thinkin 3 gallon pots and hoping to water every other day when they're really thirsty. My last run in 3 gallon dirt pots ended up with every other day at the peak. I've been runnin my room at 85 degrees with co2. Maybe a bit too much???? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

the droopy is happening bcuz they are getting over watered... stop watering them until they perk up.

my concern is, you may only be watering once a week if u use the three gallon pots (unless u grow 4,5,6+ foot trees or you or growing a long crop.)

i havent used the three gallons in years, but i would be curious to see what a 2gallon and 3gallon, grown side by side would look like.... bcuz the size of the pot effects the size of the plant, but a smaller pot can be feed much more, and that is also very important when growing hydro/coco.

Anyways, i water every other day with the 2 gallon pots and everyday during the last 2-4 weeks of flower.

it depends on the strain but they usually double give or take, but some strains can triple in size when u flip to 12/12 (usually sativas)

heres my question ,,I currently use Ionic for coco for veg and bloom (its a 1 part nute) and in flower I add molassas,hammerhead 9/18,Ionic boost,and (epsoms at week 4)
I run my coco like a hydro setup 3 feeds a day 1 min each

Iveg between 400-700 ppm feed daily

and bloom it 800-1100 no flush til the last week

how would you run this in the same type of set up but with canna ,
I just purchased the line for coco because the Ionic line I use is no longer available

strains are gws xberrybolt -sour diesel-bigbud x widow

not even sure if its possible to get better results than what I have now ,but we shall see any tips guys thanks
