The Official Canna Coco & Nutrients Thread

Hi everyone.
First post on the forum. Been reading all sorts of threads and grow journals for months and as of the end of this month will be starting my first grow. I'm definitely going the coco route as recommended by a friend and i have a feeling this thread may well be my bible for the next few months.
Still waiting for my equipment to all arrive but my intention is to grow Bubba Kush from seed. I will be using a grow tent measuring 80x80x180 with a 400watt HPS. I will be using canna coco as medium and for nutes: vega start, coco A+B, cannazym and canna boost. from what I've seen earlier in this thread it seems i'll have to add some cal/mag with that also. I dont really have any questions at the moment just wanted to introduce myself to the crew :) haha. Once everything is up and running I'm sure I'll have a million and one questions come up.

That will depend on what water you are using and your plants genetics :) (some are cal/mag hogs :) )
ro/distilled = definately
soft tap = probably
hard tap = probably not

Hi, what is the difference between the canna coco and the canna terra medium? I am doing my first grow, I got a seedling going in some potting mix from a garden store but I want to use something better for the next one. I have read up about creating your own soil with worm castings etc but I can't find some of the products locally so I am guessing perhaps canna terra may be the next best thing, is this the case? Thanks

the canna terra is soil bro and the coco is coir

Look for better genetics!

They look good though, one thing i do see is maybe feeding a bit to high! Classic claw on the leaves.
and temps could be a tad bit to high! Judging by the canoe on the upper leaves
i've now started feeding with less PART A and cut out the PK 13/14 since they are week 5 of flower.
i still dont notice any swelling at all but the clawing is going away, slightly..
a few hairs are even starting to turn orange.
im hoping I didnt introduce PK13/14 too early.

what is going on?

Bud XL is a good substitute for Canna Boost at about half the price.

I think the best advice for your setup - don't use any booster.
Look at how the plant will grow with a good balanced NPKCaMg food.
I remind you, without any organic stimulants you can get 1gr/w and more .+Sometimes organics may even harm your plant in hydroponics or coconut, lead to infection of the roots etc. ... double-edged sword
Perhaps, one - enzymes (from any producer)that are very useful in the root zone in dwc or coco.

Looking to switch from canna! Product works great but i just cant resolve this one issue :( so here goes you take a clean res tank
and add 30gals of water (tap) ppm 150 to the res tank.... Add 1ml per gal. Cal-mag to achieve 200 ppm allow to mix well then add
canna A and again allow to mix for 10+ minutes and finally add canna B. Once this is done i again wait 10+ minutes to mix well.
once what seems like forever i add ph down to get 6.0

you might ask why wait so long to add well here in lies my issue..... After everything is mixed and ph is set the follow few days i start
seeing a crust like salt form on all the pumps and walls of my res tank. This crust over time screws up my ec probe and ppm probe
on my blue-lab gaurdian. Also is so thiick it seizes up the pumps lol. So in order to eliminate factors i allow things to mix well to aviod
any reactions, nothing so far seems to work.

i have use tons of nute lines and canna rocks by far but the labor involved in cleaning the res tanks sucks! Dtw is so simple and for the most part idiot proof! But i might have to move on cause i hate having to break out the paint scraper to clean a stupid res tank. Putting alot of thought into heavy 16

Have you tried adding drip clean to the res? If its nute salts that should help but i've never had anything like that happen.
My res is only 5 gal but even after a week or 2 there is no crust or residue in it.

Gonna make this quick because I'm a work....1. Why are you added calmag to tap water plus your ppm's are already at 150. Correct me if I'm wrong but there's no need to add cal mag. I add calmag because I'm using a r/o system and my ppm's start at 5-10. Not to mess up your regime but have you tried using r/o water to see if that might correct your crust like salt buildup? I use canna as well and I only bring my ppm's up to 100.

Well its simple plants need it! If a plant shows a cal-mag issue im gunna add some lol i know canna claims you dont need it but thats in a perfect canna world. But as a test to rule out the cal from this issue i tryed it without it and still have the problem. Also have drip clean but dont like it and i rather run more run off to slow salt build up in the coco. I have talked to canna and there stumped! Before i slap a bandade on a gusher with drip clean i would like to solve this..... I have been reading about nutrient fallout? But still gathering info on that. Also i feed way under what canna claims you should use i like 500 to 600 ppm on the .500 scale

to better show my issue i will post up a few pics later today
