ok, so i did a little experiment today with rain water and tap water here in florida, its cold, about 48 and it has rained all day. so i had my sister (she has really been a big help taking care of me with hip injury, just unreal) stick a 3 1/2 gal pail out and fill it up with rain water to use for my next grow attempt. then i tested the ph and it read 6.2, then i tested the tap water and it tested at about 7.8, i was like WoW!! so rain water it will be, something to think about. still havent decided whether to do a soil grow or my new 4 net pot, 10 gal hydro tub. either way, i will use the gravity drip watering system. if i go with soil, these are the 2 i have narrowed it down to. the screen pic is the rain water pail, LoL. more later.

yes prebs, im gonna, i will just leave the hydro stuff put away for now and do the 2 plant soil grow, i have it and it isnt goin anywhere, LoL. gidget used the other stuff and she's done pretty dam good on her grow for sure, but i just have a feeling about that african violet stuff because of what it contains, so i i think i will use it. jay, the rain water just seems so much better on the ph deal, i guess we'll see, now i coild just to home depot and get that dirt, LoL

I'm guessing your area has alot to do with that too, pollution variables and whatnot.
(areas in general, not just your area)

bro, all i can tell you is test them different ways and see what you come up with, maybe you can come close to what you want.
the rain water and potting mix im gonna use will end up right around 6.0

man, found this strain, thinking about trying it for this next grow, its autoflowering, very short grow period, and very tasty looking, all i have to do is make sure it doesnt dry out, sounds simple enough, LoL. heres the link, this place sells single seeds, could make 1 hell of a mixed up grow.

I chopped the rest of my buds this morning (was finishing up the lower popcorn buds)
So wanted to post a "Ghetto" update having added up the totals
the harvest last week is in the jar curing now and came out to 35.9 grams dry (1.2 oz) which was .37 grams per watt of light
Plant was 21 inches tall, had 6 colas, 97 watts of light
Harvest this morning was 28.8 grams wet that brings the wet total to 121.2 grams (or exactly 4 ozs)
I expect dry total to be right at (or slightly over) 1 and 1/2 ozs

I can't wait to get a new power cord for my camera. I'm currently building boxes #3 and #4. They are two different types of rubbermaid boxes. One has a 90w UFO that I might add 2 CFL's to except the temp is already high. The other will probably have 6, 100w equivalent CFL's. They are perfect for LST'ing. I got 2-2.5 oz off 1 plant a few years back from a box similar to the second one I mentioned. Looked like an upside down octopus with 19 arms, and that was after I topped it and removed about 10 branched a few weeks before flowering because I was worried the lack of air flow would cause mold. With the extra room in the new 6 light box I bet I can get a quarter pound off one plant. Only problem is it has to veg FOREVER. Your gonna love this ghetto rig though. It's something Macguiver would be proud of. I also post pics of my homemade carbon filter when I make it. Gonna wait until my seedlings are bigger so I don't waste the activated carbon.
