mr pinworm please could you give me some advice. i have grown before but never in RDWC. i fucked up my plants by letting them get root rot before i got them into the rdwc system. cut a long story short i cut the roots, didnt help so ive just ripped them out and threw them in the bin. i have cleaned out the entire room and system and am getting 24 cheese cutting on wednesday to start again. i read what you said about the lucas formua and am hoping to get it right...... the nutrients i have are as follows.
gh mirco
gh grow
gh bloom
advanced nutrent revive
cal mag
bio silica
hydozme
my question is to you sir hahaha. what you recomend doing with this mix up?
i do have a tri metre messured in EC. 6 x 600 watt duel spec lamps. each 600 is covering a 1mx1m area and i plan on scroging 4 plants in each square metre area.
your advice would really help me out coz i read so much and i just need all the infomation putting right.
thanks pinworm
First off, boss, I would ditch the hygrozyme. It's for "bennys" (beneficial bacteria) and will be worthless when used with Lucas' "Formula".
It's always nice to have some CaMg+ (but won't be necessary if you follow the 0-8-16 system) Keep using the silica. Good for keeping the pH steady (+ big thick stems)
My advice is as follows - Keep using your tri-meter, and keep your pH @ 5.9 - I like to pH every batch change and am looking to keep her at about 5.4ish and let it "scale" through the week to about 6.3ish. Different elements are absorbed at different points in the pH range. If that makes sense. So, letting the bucket scale can be a good thing. Keep your TDS at about 1300 tops during flower. I like to change my res at least once a week/every 10 days-ish....For 600w, I would suggest at least a 20 gallon res. Keep your res temps as low as possible. The lower the temps, the more Dissolved Oxygen is available for the roots to intake. Cannot stress this enough. If your root zone's temps are higher than 70F, ditch DWC and get into an Ebb and Flow setup. Ebb and Flow is MUCH more forgiving with higher temps. I would also suggest keeping your bubbles @ 1 watt per gallon of resevoir. So like a 20 gallon res for your 600w lamp will be perfect with about 20 watts of airpump/stones. It seems a litle agressive, but, the whole point of hydro is to get the max amount of Oxygen to the roots. RDWC can support life up to 80F with enough bubbles....but, anywhoozle..... About all I can offer unless you
re looking for specifics...which I would be totally down to hook you up with if you would just shoot me a PM....Hope his helps a bit. Good luck in your ventures, brother.....
