I'm developing a liking for rounds with less overbore capacity. A flat-shooting round is inherently impressive, but I also like to keep my barrel throat in shape for a long time. And the slower rounds get the job done, if you match the cartridge/gun to the task. cn
I admit, I'm a sucker for fast cartridges... I love WSM's, SAUM's, WM's, lol.... The .243 is fast, but I've not experienced any barrel degradation in my Remington Model 7....

I also have 2 Marlin's.. one in 30-30 and one in .44 mag. I love them both, although I find the .44 mag slightly annoying to shoot because it's loud as all fuck.
