Putting the lights on a 12/12 timer tomorrow. I guess I could put the AG pump on the same timer? Or does it need the 15 minutes every now and then action?
Make sure to have roots before you switch to 12/12... trust me... if you throw them into flower without enough roots, you will yield 1/8 of the potential with roots established....

Dude.. wait for plenty of roots...;-)

I am not sure what media you are using, but whatever it is, you need to figure out how much water it needs to remain damp...

You don't want it to be dry, then soaked, then dry...

You want just a constant damp...

Try 15 min. every hour.. then adjust as needed... a digital timer is the ticket, cause you could program it in minute increments...

Here is a shot of my current one bulb AG grow...

Cheers..

The timer i planned using for my 12/12 lighting, has instead been used for 15 minutes of AG pump watering on the hour, every hour, 24 hours a day. haha. I hope that works out alright. I plan to be vigilant and adjust as needed (every other hour, every 3 hours, 4..etc) After 24 hours of constant pumping and dripping from the AG the sponges don't seem TOO heavily soaked, they drip maybe once when taken out to check for development and condition. Hopefully 15 minutes every now and then is JUST enough to keep that tip moist.

I also have two airstones fizzing 24 hours a day. So the water will remain more than plenty oxygenated. I hear once roots in AG reach aerated water, they spread like crazy, so I look forward to that.

Au natural, no rooting hormone, no additives (other than pH adusters and the 'Superthrive' dip prior to planting) any guesses on success rate, and timeline for the roots?

If you manage to not let them dry out... I bet you will have 75% roots in 14 days or less...

Be vigilant... watch it close until you have it figured out...

I would rather run the pump for less minutes, more times, than less times for more minutes...

Did that make sense???

Have you been giving it the LST treatment? Crazy how you've got it all spread out like that. Looks cool.

And good luck with your clones Shack! I know once my girls' roots hit the water in the AG rez they pretty much went crazy, growing all over the place.

Thanks!:bigjoint:

I did LST and SUPERCROPPING...

There are more pics on my thread... showing the "pinch & bend" + LST I have done...

The AG is in the last or so page...:eyesmoke:

i picked up some clear 9 oz plastic drinking cups from the store and gave each clone its humidity dome. don't think they REALLY need it as the leaves have barely begun to curl and they are on their 3rd day in the AG. i sprayed the inside of each ONCE with my spray bottle to moisten the inside of the cups.

humidity domes, good idea/bad idea???

What do you mean?

Am I a medicinal user? you must have missed the pics of my X-rays...;-) yeah dude.. I am a medicinal user...

If it wasn't for pot, I would be taking horrible pain pills.. probably for ever...bongsmilie:eyesmoke:

Pain is my mistress, and she tells me when I can leave the house... not much here lately...

Hopefully this next surgery (#7) coming up will do some good...

Hope this answers your question...

So I've added the domes to the clones, I left them off for half of the day and saw they were getting a little more dead looking without them.
Going by what I read in the GrowFAQ and what I've heard everyone else say, I flushed the res today (heard you should do it every few days) and filled up with distilled water and ONE I emphasize ONE drop of Superthrive ust to se what happens. pH'd around 5.4-5.6, meter kept dancing around there for a good 10-15 seconds. Had to move one of the airstones a bit to help with bubbleage they seem to be scattering a bit more now.

And other awesome news... a few are starting to show TINY protrusions from the cut tip, possibly early root hairs???

Here are some pictures to gawk at...

Always curious how growers here on the forum "use" their herb... personal, medicinal, dealing... I'm just a nosy bastard.

Sorry to hear about your pain, my girlfriend, brother and myself got into discussing legalization last night (i bring it up whenever possible) my brother pointed out how often i blur the lines between medicinal and recreational. Hearing just a bit of your story, angers me, to think this drug is incredible has such potential and not even just as a drug but for fibers, ethanol, etc... i don't know not the time or the place for a rant. Just wanted to say "right on" to you haha... i need a bowl...

looks like your growing alien babies in there... lol
if you tell anyone i will feed you to them. they eat dog meat usually, but i'm sure they wouldn't mind some tasty stoner meat.

cuttings have been in the AG for 4 days now. the cutting in the back left looks like it could be developing roots soon. the cut area has become MUCH lighter in color and looks to have tiny little protrusions. what should i be seeing? also before i put them into the AG i read about "scarification" it was pretty much what i expected to be doing. if i didn't scrape them up well enough, is the cut tip enough to start rooting? or should i maybe do some scarring to increase the rooting area?

gypsy i hope you're reading this entry, haha... so far you seem to be one of the few readers checking me out that knows about cloning. don't be offended folks, i just know about gypsy for sure... anyone else with any cloning experience maybe?

How can you possibly be seeing something that should be inside of the plug???

Are you removing the clones? to look at it????

If you are, and there are bumps on the clone, chances are you just ripped root...

LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE!!!!!

what should i be seeing?
You should be seeing nothing until the roots pop out of the plug....

This is an AG with the AG plugs we're talking about right?!?!;-)

ah ha! haha a little confusion there. the way i trimmed the plugs, the cut end is just barely exposed at the bottom of the plug, it actually protrudes the tiniest bit, i haven't pulled the clones from the plugs. just popped the "cages" net pots whatever we want to call the plastic holders, from the tank and looked at the cut end that is just exposed out of the plug.

should they not be the littlest bit exposed like they are? if so its just a matter of the SLIGHTEST little pull to completely cover the cut end in the plug.

thanks gypsy!

OK.. sorry...

I thought you were pulling them off to look at it... you would not have been the first...

I say pull them back.... ai ai ai ai ai ai... I hate telling you that...

But if you don't, what happens is that the water will always run over it, drowning it...

You need the plug to provide moisture AND air... they are both needed... at the same time if possible, that is why aero set ups are so good.. aor and water at the same time...

The less you move them. the less chances you have of ripping "micro roots" as they start to form...

Good luck and leave them alone as much as possible...

Nice little set up you got going there. I wish I could help but I'm just learning how to grow.
hmmph... you think i KNOW what im doing?? just playing, but really i sprouted my first seed in in early april. i'm still learning as i go. taking tips from everyone else, and sharing what i've figured out. keep reading and posting... no such thing as "the right way to grow" i've discovered very quickly..

thanks for checking out the grow!

lol shit.. to me it looks like you know what you're doing. I like the strains you chose from the attitude. I went with White Rhino only but I'm thinking of getting some of those mixed seeds like you. Different opinions have counfused me a bit and yes, I have found out that there is no 1 way to grow, you gotta do what works best for you. Keep up the good work, I'll make sure to visit regularly.
