I need to know...what is an affordable way to grow my plants..i have mustered up 400 bucks..which is not a lot..but its my starting point..i wanted to know

1.what is some good soil i can buy from home depot...affordable but good....
2.also..im having trouble getting the whole concept of the npk..i get the fact that the three numbers on the package indicate the npk mixture....but im tryong to get a good guide line of npk...i wanted to know whats some simple stuff i can go into homedepot or lowes and but...
And how to distribute the npk..do i mix it in the soil...soak it...etc...
3.also a good way to control possible pests....

I need to know how people generally systemize their plant..a good rule of thumb for watering the plant...i know that people either water too much or too little...so if there is a good rule of thumb for this..please let me know

You could do a lot with 400 bones man... the biggest concern is that you don't seem to have grown any plant, ever. The biggest question is how much total area do you have to work with? Do you have more than one areas? A small room and a closet? Just a closet? Without knowing ur area... recommendations wouldn't nescesarily make much sense.

Go to lowes or home depot and get some 5 gallon buckets, then go to hydro store and get some nets, hydroton, rockwool, pump, nutes, and PH/TDS tester.

on the contrary, 400 bones is enough loot to start a very nice grow op... i grew my first plant with a 0$ budget to begin with and didn't break it the whole grow.:blsmoke:

the most expensive thing will be the light, unless you use fluros.

you notice you're not getting any response from experienced people on the site?

the reason is you're asking us to give you all of the basics for growing - things they write books about. no one who knows what they're doing is going to go through all of that trouble to bring you up to speed if you haven't done some homework first. it's not like we're getting paid.

so - research the basics on this site. that would include planning the space, lighting, watering, fertilizer and soil. all of this can be found on this site in the faq, stickies or by searching posts. after that, you will have some specific questions that people can and will answer for you.

you may get answers the way you're trying but they won't be worth much, imho.

I dont think you should go to home depot. I found that their prices are rediculous for soil and pots. I got 7 gallon pots for 75 cents used from a nursery and i went to a brand new hydro store that was willing to sell for rock bottom price for soil. I only bought building materials from home depot. Just a idea good luck.
