The smell :)

Hello there!
So, i have a little plant thats a week old, and i just planted an other one. But since I live in an apartment with a lot of neighbours ( even though they are all really old, and problably wouldnt notice or couse truble) I was wondering if it can couse a lot of odor during the flowering period. I planted two, to increse my chances of getting a female plant, and i plan to cut down a male plant as soon as it shows first signs. I have a nice little room with a good air flow, but since I'm really not good with money (a student, with income really low and depends on the season of the year), after 2 days of looking for cheap tools for keeping it nice and fresh I've found out that not only is it much more expensive in my country than in America (just an example), its like 2-3 times more expensive. SO I was wondering can 2 plants really couse so much odor that it would alert the neighbours or stink up my apartment to the extent that it can be smelled outside of my apartment? Can I use some air refresheners sold at super markets or something like that? I'm doing it for fun, and potential free homegrown weed, so if there is no way, guess ill just have to throw it away.

Btw, I dont know the strain. Growing good strains is not popular here, so it's probably nothing special. I have some of the weed the seeds came from, but its not that smelly.

Thats what i asked you, if its only one plant involved with already a good venting sistem. No need to be rude.

Two plants could potentially stink up your entire building. Maybe the oldsters won't notice but visitors might. If you want to do this indoors you need the right equipment and proper planning. You could try to get away with it without proper odor control but you will quickly become accustomed to the smell and won't notice it. But others will.

Best thing would be to bail on this project. Research, plan, and acquire good equipment. Takes more $ and effort but it will contribute greatly to your success. And freedom. We will help you, but you have to do your part too.

I'll type what I want to type...do your homework noob.
You don't have to read or reply to anything you don't want to...

It depends on the climate in which you live. Do you live in an area where people call the cops about smelling weed and the cops actually care? The best cover for the smell of growing weed is the smell of smoking it ;) Seriously.

One flowering plant will hardly put out a wall of odor, but someone could pick up a faint smell, maybe. It just depends on the political environment where you live. Where I live, you could call the cops all day about smelling weed, but guess what: they're not coming.

I'm pretty sure you will smell the plant outside your apt. Are you in the first floor? People will be able to smell it outside as well if you are using windows for vent.

I just grew 3 plants and could smell it in the middle of my yard. If wind is blowing right it can go a distance. 1 plant won't be as bad as my 3...but it will smell beyond a store bought air freshener is my guess

Def some good advice here. The thing is if u live in the apt u become desensitized. Whereas ppl in other units can pick up on the faintest whiff. A decent scrubber will run $200, high CFM fan about $150...piece of mind =priceless. Plus it removes smoking odors, chemical odors, pet odors...totally worth it IMO. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. Invest in the fan bro you won't regret it

a very good point. It was only after i'd take a week off from work as a fishmonger that i'd get back in my car and realize just how much i must stink at the end of each day :D while working, i wouldn't be able to smell a thing.
