The SSC Platinum Collection

Can anyone tell me much about the platinum collection from The Single Seed Center?

I’m a new grower and they had some good prices on some well known strains but as those seeds are the only ones not tied to a featured seed bank I was wondering if anyone had any info on them.

For example, if I buy some feminized Girl Scout cookies or blue dream seeds from “the SSC Platinum Collection” can I expect the similar results to more expensive seeds of the same strain from other breeders/seed banks? They even have some of the same strains for more on their site from other breeders so I was just curious.

I was going to post my own question about the SSC's in-house selection, because I have bought a GDP and an AK-47 from them but have not grown them out yet. Right now the GDP has sprouted but is still just a seedling.

However, I got a couple of free feminized Cheese beans from them last year. I accidentally killed one of them but the other ran to harvest in December, I think, in LA. I've never grown Cheese before, so don't know what to expect, really. Observations: It grew like an indica-leaning plant, not very tall but I kept in in a smallish container. When it flowered it got really purple. The budworms and mold attacked it but that was totally my fault as a first-time outdoor grower. The flowers I got are not super potent but they smell nice and vape tasty enough. The potency problem could very well be my fault and not because of genetics because I seem to suck at timing harvests.

Anyway, you might not have to buy their Platinum Collection Girl Scout Cookie beans because I think they are giving them away free as a promo if you spend more than $50 (or whatever) on some other seeds. They have sent me 8 free GSC seeds over the past few months to go with other stuff I bought.

I was hoping maybe someone else had run their GSCs so they could tell me what to expect.

Following up on this, I am pretty happy with two strains from the Platinum Collection that I have grown so far: Cheese and Granddaddy Purple. Still have an AK-47 and a bunch of GSC beans to test.

Nice, how's the ak47 as far as effects? I've been staring at serious seeds for a while. I've been thinking about giving a few ak varieties a grow.

I got some from a dispensary that was really powerful but have seen AK-47 described as a mediocre strain that is mainly grown because it is easy and fast to grow. Your mileage may vary, I guess.

Oh I totally misread your post. I thought you grew ak, you said cheese and gdp, lol. Read this a bit too quick after a bong rip

I had a neighbor who grew ak for years, I just never met him because that shit never circulated outside the neighborhood, so i knew it was local. This was 2010, I used to be able to get hoggsbreath too. Both were excellent smoke!
