The tab name! change?

Hey!

I'm voting that the the words "Marijuana Growing" not show up as the name on the tab when you have the site open


Seriously...


How am I supposed to browse tasty buds at work?! even if it said RIU or roll it up that would be better than the bluntness (no pun intended) that it is right now


I have to close the site completely every time someone walks in the office :cry:

I 100% agree!

Also email notifications say marijuana growing. Wtf is that? I mean gmail scans every email. I do not want the words marijuana growing to be scanned thousands of times for me!

best solution to this would be to have nothing sent to your e-mail.

you most likely shouldn't be on riu in the office anyways, however google chrome has an add on for you to change it yourself https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/rename-this/lcpjdhnnehkbbdcmdieijglnoiakofdf?hl=en-US

as for US changing it that would upset people who use tabs to be able to multitask and read different information.

I want notifications! I just would like the option to not have the words marijuana growing.

The truth is is that I joined a website called rollitup. That name is not too obvious. I didn't join a website called marijuana growing. I may have chose another forum if I was aware of that before hand. Now I am kind of locked in.

lol, yeah. Not sure which browser you are using.

A simple extension/plug-in search for tab renamer will do the trick. If at work and you guys have an IT department I'd be more worried about the manager finding out what sites are being queried. There are proxies too, but ones I've used are too slow.

Another way of doing it is remote desktop, sometimes I will connect remotely to my home pc. then close the whole session and come back to it later with all the tabs open that I found interesting.

I am the IT department. So no worries there.

If people use multi tabs and need to know then changing it to just rollitup would even be better.

Oh well, Just thought I would throw it out there!

how could it be better if they changed it ??
tabs allow me to multitask between threads, articles, and acitivy stream if it was all changed just to roll it up it would be pointless. Either way I gave you a simple solution an add on for your browser View attachment 2530891 I could find you one for any browser you have

Would anyone get confused with a rollitup email notification? I personally do not think it is possible to confuse that one at least. That is really the more important one.
For the tab it doesn't matter because IT can figure out what website you are on no matter what.

the question for the email has been asked many times, they wont change it sorry dude , best advice is either cancel the notifications or get a new email specifically for RIU

no no you misunderstood. I don't mean making every single tab say rollitup

I meant the main page not saying Marijuana Growing right on the tab. I don't mind the various threads showing up under their own specific name but the Marijuana Growing in general tab is kind of annoying.

I came here from the old school forum gardenscure and before the new owners got a hold of it you never knew what the heck kind of forum it was except for something to do with gardens. It felt more secure I guess, now its a load of crock but that's another story.

I appreciate your link to change the tab names, and I am using it. I guess I will just have to keep the application around

I get what you mean I can see how it can be annoying to some best I can do is offer a solution to keep everyone somewhat happy
