This was our first year hosting Thanksgiving at our place ! Brined the turkey for 2 days, made stock - for gravy, stuffing, and green bean casserole, made cranberry sauce, Boursin mashed potatoes, and roasted sweet potatoes with cinnamon maple butter. I put my sister and her family on dessert duty - pie and ice cream for all the kids.

When we were stationed on Guam there was a typhoon coming on thanksgiving so we had the bright idea to cook it early and leave it in my shop fridge because the building was on the emergency power system. Unbeknownst to us the damn base commander had decided to remove us from the power list so when I was able to get into the shop the freezer had defrosted and everything ended up in the pan with the turkey. it went in the trash bin. :cuss:
