  • Wall Street reform, in particular re-regulation and reinstatement of the Glass–Steagall legislation and prosecution of white-collar crimes
  • Amendment of the tax codes to benefit the middle and lower classes, including elimination of loopholes and imposition of the Buffett Rule
  • A federal minimum wage equal to the cost of living and tied to the rate of inflation
  • Single-payer universal health care
  • Universal access to higher education, thus ending the student debt crisis
  • Opposition to trade deals such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the North American Free Trade Agreement that lead to the outsourcing of jobs
  • Strong support for free speech, net neutrality, and opposition to censorship
  • Opposition to bigotry, racism, sexism, and xenophobia, including expansion of non-discrimination protection laws to protect LGBT people and atheists, and banning foreign aid to regimes that violate human rights
  • Abolish the death penalty.
  • Amend gun regulation. Enact a universal background check, ban assault weapons, ban high capacity magazines, implement a voluntary federal buy-back program with the goal of reducing the number of firearms in the United States from the current 300+ million
  • Ban arming of human rights offenders, and hold allied nations accountable on this front.
  • Defend women's rights. Support the Paycheck Fairness Act, oppose republican funding cuts to Planned Parenthood, strongly oppose efforts to dismantle reproductive rights.
  • Drastic reduction of U.S. military presence and involvement to encompass defense alone, with application of the savings particularly to domestic infrastructure.
  • End US nation building.
  • End constitutional overreaches by the government. Ban the NSA from bulk data collecting and warrant-less spying. Shut down Guantanamo Bay and ban all extrajudicial prisons. Prosecute those who carried out torture in violation of the Geneva Conventions, the Nuremberg Tribunals, International and US law. Return and support due process and habeas corpus. Pardon and support the rights of whistle-blowers such as Edward Snowden and Chelsea Manning.
  • Amendment of drug policy with focus on "legalization, taxation, and regulation" of currently illegal drugs, expansion of addiction treatment programs, and pardons and commutation of sentences for those serving prison time for non-violent drug offences.
  • Create a renewable energy revolution, support sustainable energy, move away from dependency on fossil fuels, and avidly oppose those who deny climate change on these issues.
  • Join the rest of the industrialized world in ensuring paid maternity leave, sick time, childcare, and vacation time.
  • Ranked choice voting should also be implemented to make third parties a viable option.
  • All provisions of the voting rights act should be reinstated, and gerrymandering for partisan gain should be banned.
  • Create new "New Deal" focusing on improvement of national infrastructure.
  • Enact Police reform; end for-profit policing, require body cameras on every officer, create community oversight boards, and end stop & frisk. Appoint special prosecutors to hold police accountable.

We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgement of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again

The change, it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the fold, that's all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they are flown in the next war

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again, no, no

I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
Though I know that the hypnotized never lie
Do ya?

Yeaah!

There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again, no no

Yeaaah!
Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

hypocrisy alert: TYT raises $8 million from the private equity fund of republican presidential candidate buddy roemer!

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/the-youn...rom-former-republican-presidential-candidate/

ha! so much for keeping big money from private equity firms out of politics, eh?

The difference between the new boss (Perez) and the old boss (DWS, Donna Brasile)?

Give me a fucking break..the difference? Now I'm NOT falling in line with the Perez-threw-Ellison-a-bone maneuver..it didn't work last time i.e. Clinton and Sanders.

The jig is up.

It didn't work in 2008. You can't re-package 'new and improved' with the same product..'we the people' can tell.

Hope everyone is happy with Trump because if that's the best they can do or are willing to do..he's going to be around a looooooooooong time.

will read the rest, you have good ideas. i got this far and i see two problems . one is what you are stating about income in equality class stomping , more or less right? basic human rights. no? th game is being rigged unfairly. the second problem i see you may also know is the game. why do we have some of the complexities of economics? it feels like we are slaves asking for better treatment. which i am for btw ;) . it seems like the uglygarch is pintching the sack, stacking the cards, rigging the game. just sayin'

Conspicuously missing from this list is any mention of campaign finance reform.

Without ending money flowing into politics, none of the above will be enacted.

So let's pick the right goal first; no more money in politics, PERIOD.

but of course the list can be expanded.

Prison reform.
stop sending people to jail for doing drugs.
confront climate change as a real issue.
fund schools better include collage.
tax pollution
re examine the tax budget.

These are all great issues that need addressed, but again; unless we break the links of money between corporate America and our political system the rest of these initiatives, worthy though they might be, won't see the light of day.

priorities can be hard to agree on. You are right. we can't own our government if it's bought and sold out.

That's why I'm trying to advocate for the right priority first. End money in politics and all the rest of those issues will fall into place. Fail to end money in politics and all the rest of those issues will remain- or worsen.

The enemy of the American People are the oligarchs who feel that their great wealth bestows upon them the sole right to govern our nation. After all, they bought it fair n square, right? o_O

CLASS WARFARE. The rich have been playing to win since the 1970s.

that's right. There will still be a fight after that. if all goes well with enough progress we can confront and will have been confronting the global uglygarch
