Plain plastic 10 litre (about 2.5 US gallon?) plant pots with pre-made holes in the bottom, nothing fancy. I raised them off the floor slightly with some thin plastic blocks and they are sitting in some trays made from cut down plastic containers. That way runoff (when it eventually happens) will collect without the pots sitting in it.
I drilled the holes round the rims to give me something to anchor to if i LST during grows.
I am currently watering in large circles around the stem, pretty much near the pot edge now, hoping to make the roots stretch out looking for it.

Ok guys I'm finally getting this round started :) , here/s a quick rundown of what I'll be using this run.

I'm growing in a 4'x4' Ipower tent with a 600w Ipower HPS in the middle flanked by a 4ft 2 bulb T5 fixture (80w each) on either side. I've only used this configuration for 1 previous run, but I liked the fuller spectrum I got from the mixed lighting so why not ;) . Also I have a 430cfm extraction fan and a 6" desktop oscillating fan for circulation and a big dehumidifier if I need it, but as I tend to run 24/0 I don't usually have the RH climb too high.

For media I've always used Sunshine Mix #4 and lately I've found the blue 50c WalMart recycled plastic grocery bags make a fine soft pot :) . I put a generous 5gal of media in a bag and have room to spare, and they hold shape pretty well after a few rounds of watering.

I was lucky enough to win a large bag of Mega Crop , a kick-ass complete plant food that has all the primary and secondary nutrients as well as kelp, L-aminos, chelated silica, b-vits, chitosan, etc etc etc.... I really like the stuff, very simple and the plants I've run so far seem to like it too so I'm going to continue to use it for this round and many more.

So I think the last point for me is the strains. I'm running 3 of the 3 Bears OG, as well as 1 Alien vs Triangle and 1 Double Grape. I'd like to pack in a few more, but I think I'll wait and stagger starts aiming for a half tent harvest per month..

If using synthetics you need run off to prevent salt build up.

Day 35

Both plants still really small and compact compared to other autos I have done, but they are much more mature for their age.

Petioles are turning red in areas which made me wonder if my heater was bust, but after checking and seeing it is ok I remembered they are meant to be a purple / black plant, so not too worried now. Never done a purple plant before so it is a learning curve of how they change colour.

Watering to run off now with 1/2 strength nutes, and looking at the bottom leaves I should have started giving 1/4-1/2 dose of nutes a week or so before I actually did. Never mind, you can always add more nutes, you can't take them out. Only my second auto grow in final pots from seed, so again it is a case of learning from my mistakes. Typing my mistakes down on here is good, as I can go back and remember, rather than relying on my memory.

The observant among you will see that I swapped my usb fan from white to black - the old one was running very slowly then speeding up, so for the sake of £3 i got another one and binned the other.

The other 2 were from today. Sorry, just noticed they're a little blurry. Just splashed some water on half the pot. No nutes yet.
One plant didn't make it because I couldn't get the seed shell to let go. I attempted to pull it off without success....so I just started another seed.

I transplanted the two bigger ones. The one on the left I topped. Both things people say not to do with autos. I just put some soil in the bottom of the new pot. I then put the old pot in the new one and filled with soil around it to make a pocket. I then gently turn the plants upside down and let them slide out if the old pots. Easy peasy.

The bigger one was either burnt from the light or needs cal and mag. It has brown spots and some yellowing between leaf veins.

They are stretching and in flower now.
