right now i'm using peat with about 30% perlite added, but i'm about to go back to 5 gallon hempy pots with 50/50 coco/perlite.
i water the cup/pot to runoff, let it drain for about an hour, make a 1 inch deep hole, drop the seed in, cover it up, and leave it alone for at least 4 or 5 days. might give it little more water just to keep the top from drying out too much. if i don't see any activity after 5 days i'll poke around a little and see whats going on, but i don't have to very often. i found an inch to be a good depth, enough to make them work the shell and membrane off usually, but not too deep, where they get lost and give up unless you dig them out
