The WHITE WIDOW club, Show off your grow

I just had a quick question for someone - how do you know when to start the flushing? I have a girl that will be 7 weeks flowering this week and not sure when to start - wait till 8 weeks? 9 weeks? or even 7 weeks? After hearing some WW takes up to 11 weeks just wondered when most people start doing the flush??

Thanks in advance:joint:

It depends on the high your going for. If your looking for a high, then usually start once 90%cloudy trichs and flush for 2 weeks in soil, or 1 week in hydro. If your going for stoned, then wat for 10-20% amber and then start the flush.

just my advise but i would not got by any % of cloudy and amber that for deciding when to chop..dont start to flush until u see ur hair receeding into the pods thats when the plant begins to fill those pods with resin so they plump up all nice...so when your hairs begin to receed start flush then u decide how cloudy or amber u want it but even if ur entire plant is amber(which it wont be) but ur hairs have not receeded DO NOT HARVEST..just my opinion

It's normal for the leaves to yellow a little during flowering as they put more energy into the buds, but IMO, biobloom doesn't provide enough nitrogen for some strains. If you have BioVeg, a a little of that into your feeding schedule as it contains a decent amount of N.
looking good though

So, I checked my trichs tonight not expecting to see anything that would say its time to harvest since I could barely find any amber yesterday. Apparently they decided to get it together and pop up overnight. I had no trouble finding them tonight. 3 of the 4 ladies main colas have been taken down so far. The remaining buds will be left allowed to flower longer to bulk up. 2-3 more weeks likely.

I pulled 83.5 grams total off one of my two toppers. 60.2 off my other two topper, and 62.1 off my un-topped lady. To give me: 205.8g in wet weight. I can't weight to see what the lady in my avatar produces. I think it'll top 120g for the 3 tops only.

Heres a crappy picture for scale:

Two on left came from topped healthy plant.
Middle was from the un-topped plant that had been flushed and water for last 3 weeks.
Right two are from a struggling plant that had gotten the same treatment as the un-topped.

Topped ladies were all 12 inches long, the un-topped ended up at almost 14.

Bonus can you spot which buds came from the plant that struggled through flower?

Can I do that Dave? I thought at this point in time, cutting down some of the plant would be detrimental .. I honestly don't know, that's not really mentioned in the botany of marijuana..lol Because it looks like some of my buds are more ready than others... :eyesmoke:

Nice grow Dave, nice weight your plants are getting...

Also Dave if I may, I have not been going by the trichs, as I am more inclined to go with Zeus Take On Harvesting... I am going on when the white hairs have receeded back into the bud and have turned orange.. I am looking for couchlock. Not many people grow pot to full ripeness where I live...:-( It will be nice to smoke some really mature buds...

Laceygirl... I like this pink, I think I will stick with it...:-)

So long as you have adequate foliage to support your "leftover" branches, you can indeed do a progressive harvest. :hump:

Pink text is usually very hard on the eyes, but this is a good color with enough contrast to read easily. :D I can't post to a forum without my "dark orchid" font... it's become an OCD thing of mine, and I go crazy feeling like it's done "wrong" if I don't follow through with my ritual.

Thanks Kat, trying another colour :-)

Wow, I didn't know about progressive harvests... I could probably start with a couple of big buds tonight..yay...

And as for enough foliage to sustain... My widow is the ugliest, leafiest plant I have ever seen... Not pretty at all.. Bloody big sativa leaves everywhere, I think it will take it if I chop some... Please check my last photos in my journal Kat, would really like your opinion...

No don't like this colour...lol...

Yep. Like Kat said, you can do a double harvest. Its great if you have some other plants in your grow room that will take longer. At this far ino flowering, dont worry about it causing harm. Messing with your ladies in early flowering is what we should avoid.

I dont know if its worth doing if you plan on taking them all down at the same time though. Someone would have to do a comparison with clones to see if double harvest is worth the extra 2-3 weeks added on.

My hairs on the ladies were pretty shriveled up and 90-95% orange/brown. Not completely receded like zeus's pictures, but I was ready to chop damnit! :)

Been curing 3 days now. Its actually not too bad luckily! Its kinda what I was trying not to grow. Leafy fluffy stuff with not much smell. But coulda been worse. Ended up with about an ounce of WW and 25 grams or so of the Super Skunk. Oh well, next time will be much better. Hopefully theyll make it thru green and strong dripping with resin. And Ive got 6 strains Im trying under my little 250Hps. Im shooting for 6 ounces next time.

The flash of the camera made em look even better I think! The Last pic is the skunk with pretty purple leaves.

Give it a longer cure, and you should get that smell back. I feel you on the fluffy stuff. My lady that had lots of yellow and crinkled up leaves produced the least, and is fluffy when compared to her healthier sisters. Keeping them in peak condition really helps.

Oh, I've been following your grow journal. My hands just keep me from posting as often as I "should" or would like. You've got sufficient foliage... just gotta keep that photosynthesis thing going so the buds will keep growing. ;) I don't bother with progressive harvests if it's only going to be popcorns at the bottom; those I just let fall into the trim bag and become part of cooking oil or body lotion. But when I've got substantial buds developing at different rates, I just cut off what's ripe and leave the rest of the plant under the lights to finish cooking. Not only am I assured fully mature buds from the whole plant, but my larger harvest job is now broken down into smaller chores, which is much easier for me to handle.

Though now that my state's MMJ plant count law has been stricken due to being unconstitutional, I'm in the process of getting a small SOG rotation going. So I won't be doing progressive harvests much longer.
