Thermostat Please Help

Hey everybody, ive stumbled across a slight problem,i really want to get my grow going & im running out of time, i have the current fan below & the controller, i want to implement a thermostat to switch between high and low speeds for when the temperature fluctuates. From what i read my fan is a PSC permanent split capacitor motor with an external rotor motor,
I was wondering if anybody would know if i can wire a thermostat to the controller or should i just get a completely new controller ?

Im just looking for a good solution, a controller/thermostat that works with the fan, something that wont reduce the life. At this point im seriously confused, i have been reading about variacs,variable transformers, frequency iverters, variable frequency drives, variable voltage with linear management & voltage steppers.

Bass, pretty frustrating hey ? Problem is i read a 1000 posts where people use different controllers but almost never state what type of fan they use, so you like cool here's a controller but oh it only works on a shaded pole motor, wish more people knew the terminology like PSC - Permanent split capacitor motor which im using.

So whats the best for them ? I dunno apparently a triac with a snubber circuit ? or wait maybe a auto-transformer ? or maybe just a normal TRIAC OR DIAC. Lol

I rate i should go hit a bong now before this whole story & growing procrastination mentally rapes me : )

Hey man, ive checked out the VSC - DNE. Ive read some post that for some people its quite and some it hums alot ?

sorry i dont use it as i can control my heat with just a regular fan speed controller running at about 70 percent just to reduce the noise of the exhaust flow.. the humming would probally be from them running a shitty fan.. idk tho theres other fan speed controllers with thermostats tho.. i just use an active air fan speed controller and keep my temps 75 when light are on 60-65 lights off.. also not sure which fan your using the link wont open but i just use an ipower 440cfm to cool a 1000 watter in a 3x5 space.. get a bigger fan than u need and dial it in that way you have the extra power if u need it.. just my 2 cents.. if i had to do it again i would go with an 8" 700+cfm and just dial it down but mayb in the future.. the 440 cfm works fine for now

Sweet dude, look i have my controller i can use for now i guess i just wanted to have the fan run less when its not necessary, i guess i could save a bit of power running a thermostat attached to a controller but not noticeably alot.

If i just knew more about electronics i would be able to spot the controller i need, its just hard cause im unknown to that area.

you could always try any of them off amazon.. there only about 50 bucks and any decent fan should be able to run off one.. ill pry get that one too to be honest to try and cut my electrical down a little.. its jumped up about 100 bucks lol

Yeah dude look im thinking of taking a chance with one of them, just gonna be a pain if it breaks my fan or doesnt work lol... guess i gotta look if that VSC-DNE works with psc fans ?
It is a good idea to cut down your electrical costs a bit, i mean every bit counts at the end of the day dude.

Im going to post some other controllers i find aswell, although i did find a 5 speed voltage stepper with temperature but the company here says 12 weeks shipping and the cost is over 420 $ lol...

Another problem is the VSC-DNE runs 120volt and i run 240v here in my country man :/

you can go to local scrap yard , get a window A/c unit just make sure its a 120v unit , everything you need rite in there , fan relay and t/stat . all pre wired for ya , the power leads that go to the fan on A/C those will go to your fan , this is all 120v controls so no transformer required . $10.00 should do it, slowly turn the t/stat and listen for a click if it clicks its good and your good to buy that one.

if you want to go low voltage 24v you will need a fan relay, a transformer 40 M/f will do and a 24v T/stat , if you can under stand wiring digrams then its easy , I suggest you google a wire diagram for a 120v HVAC air handler / blower. anyone will do. and this will show you how to do it, just make sure you buy a T/stat for heat and A/C . if it just says heat NG you need the green terminal (fan)
