FIRST!!!!!
Now down to buisness

I have 3 x 26w 6500k and 2 x 23w 2700k PER PLANT in veg...maybe overkill, but this is my first crack at CFL's, so I'm not the best judge, but from what I hear the more light the better, since CFL light doesn't penetrate the canopy well.

If you replaced those 23s with 45s you would have much better results...you could have more room as well if you used 3 45s and still have more light.

Hey Dsmoke,
How long do you plan to veg your 6 plants and in how large of a space? I had my 1 plant under 5 cfls(4 26w 6500k and 1 23w 2700k) for veg through a 35 day veg cycle. It was a decent amount but I felt like it could have used more. If you plan to veg longer than 20 days I would definitely invest in some more bulbs, there cheap so why not?

I save the 42w 2700k for flowering, but it's not about me, I'm happy with my lighting. This thread was for a question relating to vegging 6 plants. I'm way down with more wattage, but I'm trying to watch my overall power consumption, especially in my veg tent. Rather have the 42w lights running 12 hours a day, not 16.

Also, I get my 23w 2700k lights for 50 cents each, as opposed to like 7 or 8 bucks each for the 42w lights, and considering that you should replace your lights every 3 months, I'd rather just cover my plants with a bunch of smaller wattage lights. What can I say, I'm cheap, and my setup works for nice tightly noded plants.

Well good deal then, I would do the same if I was you. If your way for growing works then don't change it right....

Totally, i mean, $0.50 for 23w 2700k, I couldn't pass that up. I'm actually planning on just stocking up for the next couple years, seeing as I don't know how long this deal will last. I figure I can afford $5.50 a week for TEN 23w 2700k's...lol...I'll probably stop when I have 100+ individual lights...maybe 200...lol
