I was out looking at my grow which is looking real good, and I noticed a couple of them were frowning.
After closer inspection I noticed that the ones that were wilting on the very top, each one gad a small hole in the stalk.
I pinched the top of the worst one and looking down into the hallow stalk, I could see a small grub eating away at the inside.
Anybody know what these are and how to get rid of them.

Hey, dman sorry I posted a question on a bug in the bug forum on your website, what was I THINKING.
Thanks for your help and wishing me luck though.
I envy you and the other people you mention (WE how your grow will turn out) who can see the future for knowing how my grow is going to turn out.
Do I have any hailstorms coming my way?

No shit why do people need to act like that when someone askes a question? I though thats what this site is for? Ya he could have uses google, but when you hear it from a real person who had hands on experience.

Thats like getting a new job and expect to know everything about the job the first day. Its just not going to happen unless you have HELP, from a person not a computer people go to school all the time for jobs and have no clue what to do or where everything is.

I really dont know and sorry for posting but I think people need to act a little nice to people on here this is a community, everyone should just get along.

Stem borers, If you are still in vegetative stage a mild, systemic insecticide such as imidacloprid (trade name "Merit") can offer good control but, since the borers have already done damage to the stem/main trunk you may be better off with mechanical control. Finding the entry point of the insect that layed the larve can be difficult since the plant quickly heals over the site. making detection nearly impossible. As the larvae matures it eats the inner stem and produces frass (crap) that is pushed out behind it sometimes leaving a fine, grainy sawdust looking material along the main stem. Take a sterilized needle or straight pin and push it all the way through the stem in any spot you suspect the larvae is located. This will effectively stab and kill the larvae. The plant should show no ill-effects if it is otherwise robust and growing. I wouldn't attempt to remove the borer as the plant will simply seal off the injury site or grow around it.
Oh and the earlier poster was more than just a tad overactive and offered no solutions. Much more offensive than someone just asking a question that can be looked up.

Thank you Carl Spackler, I will try your advice and hope this works.
I am in veg, so I will slide by the garden store and pick some Merit up.
Again, Thanks,

OK, for anyone else having this problem, here is what I did.
I went to a garden store and got a ready to use spray bottle of Captain Jacks Deadbug.
Its got something called Spinosad in it and says on the bottle that it is for organic gardening.
I found the hole that these borers made in the stem of my plants, put the nozzle on stream and proceeded to squirt as much as I could in the hole.
My plants responded the next day with only showing problems locally where these bugs were eating my plants ( a couple of leaves near the very top wont make it).
So now it looks like I kicked there little asses and my plants are back on track

Yes but unlike you gobskiii he actually gave an answer and a correct one at that. HE never told the op to go use google just options that are included in the website. The Search button and the sticky's were made for a reason ever think of that one ;)
Influencing people to post EVERYTHING they want and not doing research will lead to 800000 threads sounding like this " can i put my dicks through the hole i made in my stem with a baseball bat to made it turn neon and create LSD"
I agree if you cant take 5min to do a little research i to am curious how your grow will turn out.
