Agreed. Also known as leaf miner.
I've never used neem oil before so I'm not sure if it'll work or not.
I know monterey garden insect spray works on them. Anything with spinosad in it will work.

The white marks are larva eating their way out of your leaves. You don't wanna let anymore eggs hatch.

leaf miners create "galleries" and the easiest way to kill it is to follow the gallery to the very end and dig out the insect.
Or just pluck the leaf and be done with it.

These are actually pretty tough to deal with because the larvae are between the layers of the leaves and protected from sprays or dusts. Also, they pupate in the soil so external treatments to the plant give limited benefit. If you somehow removed/killed all of them in your plant, the flies hatch from the soil and look for a place to lay eggs, and the cycle stars again. Probably best to Google it and get input from several places, then decide on a plan. Definitely remove all damaged leaves though, (hopefully) before the larvae drop.
Totally understand. Our yard is pretty wild and we've got just about every pest you can imagine so I'm kind of over the curiosity stage, myself. I just want them gone.

I found a pesticide containing Imidacloprid. It's supposed to be safe for use on veggies when used up to a month before harvest, and they sell it at a grow shop. It's some sort of insect neurotoxin. I hope it doesn't kill me
I figured I have no choice but to be on the aggressive side, since the forest will be hitting me with its best parasites.

I use neem oil. I have no noticeable population for 2 weeks or so. I think I used it 3 times and I don't see anything touched lately, despite being longer. Don't use it in late flower, though, or you risk having rotten Chinese food buds.
