hey there,

thought i'd post some pics of my beautiful baby...i think she's pretty much done...what do you guys think?

should i keep her in the dark for a day or two...i've heard this tricks the plant into a final flash of production...what should i do?

the pics show some of the main colas as well as one of a smaller bud site...
any comments would be great
:peace:

What color are the trichomes? Do you prefer slightly more of a head high or slightly more of a body stone?

As for giving plants a period of darkness the believed cause and effect of tricking plants into increased THC production is a fallacy. You will get increased levels of THC if you do give your plants 72 hours of darkness but it is not because they are tricked.

People believe giving them darkness tricks them into ‘thinking’ that it is late in the growing season so they speed up their processes but once plants are in a 12 hour lighting cycle they already ‘think’ it is late in the growing cycle so you cannot trick them.

What happens is that light somewhat degrades THC so each day some THC is lost but during hours of darkness it is replenished and slightly more is added so you do get a slow continual increase but when you give plants 72 hours of darkness THC production will continue for that long without any degradation due to light so the increase is much more than you would otherwise have.

Some strains will get as much as a 30% increase in their level of THC and that is massive. All will not respond to the same degree but you will still see an increase so 72 hours of darkness before harvest is not at all a bad idea.
