Soil Grow
Soil - 50% Miracle Grow Potting Soil (no slow release nutrients), 25% vermiculite, 25% pearlite
Pot Size - 500 mL pots for initial growth, transplanted into 3 gal pots after two weeks.
Lighting
Sprouts/Vegetative - Eight 40W Shop light fluorescent bulbs (total of 320W)
Flowering - (1) 430W Son Argo HPS Bulb plus (Twelve *hopefully*) 40W Shop light fluorescent bulbs (fluoro total of 480W)
Room Setup
Size Veggie area of 3.5 x 3.5 (with 36 degree slanted ceiling) and flowering area of 3.5 x 3.5 (height of 3.5). Height *is* an issue. This is set up is the small enclosed nook under the stairs and front landing. All walls are lined with tinfoil.
Equipment ceramic space heater, 18 fan, 50cc bathroom exhaust fan (exhausting to the outdoors), cooltube running on the 430W HPS bulb, ultrasonic humidifier, concealed door lock with hidden door release
Unused Equipment 18 DIY carbon sock filter (it simply didnt work for me)
Temperatures and Humidity
Daytime Temperature 21 to 26 degrees Celsius
Nighttime Temperature 18 to 20 degrees Celsius
Monitored Relative Humidity - 30-55%
My Plans and Goals
Well, third times a charm. I have done two previous so-so grows (the first one tanked, and the second one the wife became paranoid so I had to chop it down early). I am really hoping that I now have the experience, equipment, and the will to succeed.
I have been experiencing chronic pain for the past three months and since the doctors didnt want to prescribe anything for me out of fear of: 1) affecting my normal stomach movement, 2) concern of me becoming addicted. Stupid doctors. So, I started to medicate myself with cannabis once I couldnt take the pain anymore and I saw that the medical community wasnt going to help.
I hope to have a continual harvest so that my medicinal needs can be met.
Enough of me, on to the plants:
I have a grow of 4 atomic northern lights (several weeks old still vegging)
and a grow of 1 hawaiian snow (just breaking thru the topsoil now).
I can post pics of the grow and of the room (after a clean up) if folks are interested. I would also be interested in feedback as well.
FYI: The wife still has no idea that I am growing right now (she never looks under the stairs and the exhaust fan removes all odours). Of course, the wife *will* find out one day, and then Ill probably be dead.
