So I go to the only place i know where good soil is cheap. They dont carry it now cause winter is coming. They have 2 cu ft bags of FFOF for $10 each. Any hydro store in my area charges at least $25 I think. Any good soil that is cheap out there? Maybe a good soil from homedepot or something?

I dont wanna say this, but you can make your own like Im about to. It'll take at least a month so you might wanna get on it but its an option.

Check Wal Marts. Another poster said he was hitting them as they cleared out. I got a huge block of growing substrate by Premier Tech of Canada. 40# block is compressed and has beneficial mycorrizhae added. Mainly sphagnum peat, vermiculite, perlite and macronutrients although they have to be low as I got no nute burn transplanting into it from FF OG. Shit's too expensive.

Do you ever get a yellowing in your fan leaves when you switch over to flower?
Is a mix of bloom and veg nutrients needed. I use iguana juice. Anybody got any experience with this

man you guys pay a lot for soil. my go-to is roots original, i pay $15 per 1.5cu bag. ffof also goes for 15 and happy frog is just a couple bucks more. thebig bales of promix go for $28 bucks... these are prices in the metro detroit area.

things are good here for a cannabis grower. i am currently saving up to move further away from the city life. my grow has become far too good at overpowering my carbon filters so i need more room between houses :)

I can't think of a recommendation, but I would advise NOT trying the Edna's Best Organic Soil which is available through Ace Hardware. I planted a couple of would-be mom's in it, and they deteriorated rapidly. Nitrogen deficiency within days , despite A healthy looking ingredients list. Then when I started feeding them some light Earth Juice (which I have successfully used in the past), they just kept going downhill until I ended up tossing them... Just my experience, maybe someone else has that soil figured out...

Also FYI, if you are friendly and cheerful at the hydro store, you will notice that the prices drop. Those guys have a pretty solid markup to play with, and lowering prices keeps people coming back. I think I pay about $12 each for FFOF (don't use anymore) or Roots.

this is very true. when i make a point to shoot the shit with the hydro shop guys they end up knockin 10-15% off my whole order. now that i have been goin to the same shop for about 18 months i get free samples and discounts all the time.

Soil prices are really high roots organic is almost $30 in Seattle.
has anyone ran there soil more than once?

Kellogg Patio Plus $4 for 1.5 cu ft. I pick it up at Home Depot and Lowes. Mel's Mix is another good one, but costs $10 for 4 cu ft. It's getting harder to find Mel's Mix. It usually sells out pretty fast.

So I've looked at homedepot and lowes website and all their soil sucks donkey dick. Can't find any organic. Everything I see is not organic and feeds for like 9 months. wtf.

Sunshine proffesional gro mix (sungro) #2......I know alot of people perfer #4, but I like #2, "keep it simple stupid"....Sunshine 3.8 cubic ft, $30!..I think alot of people over feed, overwater, over care for thier plants? These things are weeds guys, they want to grow!
Good luck!

Sunshine Or Pro-Grow are two good ones,I use pro-grow-HP sense it is local, hydro shop sells sunshine but too far away.
