I'm sorry FG for commenting without reading your whole thread. That said, I also don't know a lot of particulars about Sayed's case, I did hear of it when following Steve Avery's case for a while. To me, it's logical that a country that locks up as many people as we do would have this many wrongfully convicted persons.

I think as long as prosecutors and cops are shielded by qualified immunity, it will never end. They are driven to get not "the" guy, but "a" guy will do. Got to show the taxpayers how quick and efficient they are at "protecting" us. Sad to say but it's going to go on endlessly until we start stomping their balls off for doing it. It's almost always the same story, failing to disclose exculpatory evidence or evidence that leads to other subjects. They literally rob these people of the life they were supposed to have, they violate ethics and often the law to do it, often they KNOW that there is still a killer, rapist etc. on the loose but somehow manage to sleep and look in the mirror long enough to get a nice clean shave. I don't get how, but they do.

First off thank you for your wonderful comment.
Indeed it's a "system."
I sure agree that there are those that are correctly incarcerated if not given too lenient of a sentence.
Personally I believe we should care and have anger when convictions happen on false elements of evidence just because it scores a win for prosecution.

I am trying to listen to as much of those Podcasts as I can now. I admit I did listen on NPR in California quite often but not so much as being invested.

I don't think you would have to seize very many pensions, or bar very many people from holding office or working in enforcement, or send many to prison for a period equal to the time served by the person on the shit end of their misconduct, before seeing a substantial improvement in the way they do their jobs. But when there's no consequences at all, well nobody is safe really. We're all one bad cop and/or prosecutor a prison stretch that might last a lifetime.

Indeed.

The "Police" end of the Justice System has no responsibility to having "Proof" they work on the "Probable Cause Premise." That means they can grab anyone if they "Believe" they are guilty of something.

I think of it as shoveling coal into the steam locomotive that is the Justice System Machine.
People, especially people of color, are the coal.
The Innocent until proven part is the Judicial side of the Justice System Machine.

Here is a link to what I am looking at and please note how much effort has been done to help Mr. Syed.

Why thank you for caring.

I think your bus is leaving. You need to hurry on and catch it.
So I take it, it is a hard no on participating in this thread on the topic?
Anyone that thinks people that are not lily white are classified as black in America does not meet the minimum intelligence threshold that I require for my participation.

Thank you. I do believe that anyone not Lilly white is considered (traditionally) black.
I do believe that's you standing over by the wall wearing the cap.

So what about "Adnan Syed ?"

Anyone?

One contributor to this thread said he is not Lilly White yet he is not Black.

Does anyone think he was welcomed into the Aryan Nation in Prison?

AND what about his long long incarceration and being freed?
