This is how I bake brownies. What am I doing wrong?

I grinded 14 grams of decent-quality mids into a batch of brownies and cut them into 12 pieces, equaling ~1.2 grams of herb per brownie. I thought 2 would be enough to get blazed but it wasn't. 3 consumed at the same time gave me a desirable buzz, however it didn't last very long. This is how I bake...

I grind 14 grams with a coffee grinder, dump it all into a pan that has 1 cup of vegetable oil in it, then set my oven to simmer.

I stir the herb and the oil around in the pan for 45 minutes - 1 hour, then put the mixture through a strainer which I then dump into the baking mix.

That's basically it. Am I doing anything wrong? Anything you recommend? Or am I just someone that can't get very high off edibles?

Thanks

No I'm pretty sure I didn't burn any. How long do you let your herb simmer on the stove? Last batch I did almost a full hour. Should I do longer?

what color is it when you're done? can you see through it? you should strain it back into the measuring cup so you can verify that you haven't lost any oil (assuming you have a glass measuring cup). you need to let it sit a good 20 minutes anyway or you'll cook the egg in the batter. if you lost oil you need to turn the heat down next time. if the oil is see-through you need to cook it longer. i like to pour a teaspoon or two of barcardi 151 through the plant goop strainer after i squeeze the oil through. it helps with the flavor and it's a good rinse for the plant matter.

something I have tried is not making butter/oil taking all the stuff making like normal brownies but you decarb the weed then add the weed after you have crushed it and made it all powdery add this to the dry stuff then cook... seems to me... it helps a bit... I have a issue with medibles so...

The longer you let it simmer the better.. Jus made some cannabutter and let it simmer for 3 hrs.. shit shouldn't burn but in the end Im almost positive your ground up bud should be dark almost black when you strain it out. make sure your doing it at the right heat. too low and your not going to get good results..too high and you burn it off..

It's a dark brown, which I'm assuming is good. Maybe I'll let it simmer for longer next time...?

After over an hour on the stove I could still see some green in the shake. Maybe I'll try upping the temps a bit next time. The stove I use is so old some times it's hard to regulate.

Either or. I know he was talking bout simmering oil but they are both basically the same concept. You have to allow the temps to break down the THC and allow it time to bind to the fats in the oil. The longer you wait the better the conversion factor will be.. raising temps isn't necessarily the way to go either.. If you raise temps too much the THC can be broken down into unusable forms. A low simmer with a patient couple hours is your best bet.
