I believe that a society based on private wealth is in conflict with the health and long life of a living Planet.

Like an infection the Planet is sick with the effects of Man and Man is sick from the effects of Man.

You are correct that a society based on wealth is, in general, in conflict with a healthy planet, I'm a Natural Resource major so I should know, but so are human beings at there very core of existence. We use resources like it or not and those resources will always be scarce. Where you are wrong is that people other than yourself should pay for something you want.

Me personally? Personally I have earned, with wage related income, everything I own.

What do you mean.. Want PBS? Oh a lot of people want PBS.. I wouldn't be surprised if pro-pbs people are the majority.
That last statement doesn't play.. I like your post and you seem to be a nice person.. Has a good vibe.

We are watching rights for woman, workers ability to negotiate their working conditions, independent media and the future of the American people taking fire from an enemy within.
In a time we need to trust our leaders we find then attacking what we have built.

I liked Bob Ross and I don't paint. I started my organic gardening with "Gardening Naturally."

I havent watched those movies and cant commit to it now, but maybe tomorow. Im losing my will to debate as we speak at the hands of my Pineapple Express but I was referring to the fact that some people dont want to pay for PBS, which is a good you are readily consuming from the sounds of it, so why should these people HAVE to pay. Stop gov. funding and we see if it would be a legit business, if not, they go away and a better more efficient business model follows which in theory would provide you with much of the same content if it is demanded.

If only we could stop Government.. I think we would stop the Wars. and instead of shipping 2 billion a week out of the Country we would invest in America.

No problem.. I am riding the wave of the days events right with everyone but it is interesting how working people are against working people.
I have Bogo here and that is almost amphetamine so it's rather up. Some say it's teeth grinding but i find it to be a clear and really up lift.. It's an Indica too. I am the breeder of Bogo, Turloco and the Tiki-jo lines. None which are officially released yet.. Medical in California?

Lol I cant watch an entire episode of Bob Ross painting w/out falling asleep. I always thought he would have made a great hypnotist. The way he talks is very relaxing.

a white guy with an afro who loved animals and even had them on his show like a squirell. the guy was a stoner and nobody can tell me different.


i love PBS as it doesnt lean one way or the other, it's just educational from children and adults alike with a variety of shows that you simply will not see anywhere else.

i still maintain NPR is a different animal all together and has been used, unsuccessfully so, to be a liberal counterpart to conservative talk radio and while i can appreciate wanting to have parity on the radio i dont think such efforts should be publicly funded EVER. the bravado hosts like al franken had about taking on conservative talk radio and defeating it were for naught and only ended wasting tax payer dollars.

i cant explain why people do not want to hear liberal talk radio but the statistics show people dont like it. propping it up with public funds isnt going to make it succeed any more than it would without it. again, i think its wrong to take money from people and put it towards things like this. if NPR were about shows like gardening and the like/reflected what PBS is and does i could get behind that. but simple fact is that's not what NPR has been used for, it has failed so pull the plug on it.

for the record i dont listen to any form of policital radio and i certainly dont watch it on TV either. in my 20's i grew tired of being told what to think from pundits who seem to be more interested in driving a wedge between americans rather than encouraging true free honest open debate and finding realistic solutions that plague this country. clearly their tactics havent worked since the divide between americans appears to get wider and deeper each election cycle so why do people keep falling for it? the same reason why jerry springer and maury povich are on the air after all these years, people prefer drama and fighting instead. that and it's just easier for some people to point fingers at others for a situation they helped create because as we all know deflecting responsibility onto others is an american past time.

Well schiller said NPR would be better off with out the governments money. Sounds like it needs to be cut. Let the democrat party support them they have lots of money just think it is costing them to pay the union workers to protesting in Wl.

i would say freedom and liberty have been under attack in an effort from all kinds of political leaning people to quash anyone who doesnt agree with them/people they hate because of their own political opinions and views. they all use the same bullshit excuses, safety of the people and all that for example.

and even before it gets to washington they view as their money, not ours, just like they view it as their government, not ours. they serve their own interests, not ours. they tend to think and act as though we are here to work for them, not the other way around.

i blame the politicians, the government is fine, they're just abusing it and distorting it into something it should never be. i also blame the people who fall for their propaganda and never bother thinking for themselves. they just hear a 5 second blurb on the news and then base an entire opinion on a sound bite that is usually taken out of context/edited so people can hear what someone else wants them to hear.

if we were able to give only what we wanted to give, nothing would ever be fully funded so everything would fail and this country would collapse in a speed that would make your head spin.

The drug war would end. You remember the drug war don't you? That's where about a million people a year get arrested for a plant.

The United States would have to lose it's position as the place with the most people in prison. Yup that would end.

Property confiscation at the point of a gun would end. I'll stop now, but no, "everything" would not end.

you also wouldnt have fire departments, emergency medical personnel, etc. not everything funded by tax dollars is bad. unless you dont mind the thought of having to put out an accidental fire in your house with your own garden hose...or watching someone die because no emergency responders want to work for free.

again we dont get to pick and choose. that's the reality of living in a society, we give up certain things to have other things provided to us. it's usually called providing for the common good of all. you want to do the opposite, pay what you want and leave everyone else out in the cold.

Well not exactly. If you want to know what I want, I'll tell you... I want a world where people are peaceful and free. My means to that end incudes leaving people alone who harm nobody, helping others of my own volition and requiring others to respect my right to voluntarily interact as I am required to respect theirs. That recognition and practice aids our MUTUAL benefit and liberty. Who doesn't like freedom? Who doesn't like peace?

Your means violate my philosphy, I believe in peace and practice it, you do not. You assume your end can only be had thru violent means, I don't. Fire departments can and do exist absent coercion as do Medical personnel. I have several friends that work for free as medical responders, I do other volunteer work. Out in the cold? I housed homeless people last week and donated my time providing transportation to others, on my dime. I would be anxious to hear some of your personal success stories with making the world a better place.

Although at times I do disagree with what you say I must admit you speak from a point of view of TRUE peace and freedom...unfortunately we leave on a planet were as some people are not as caring and helpful as yourself so sometimes a little force of kindness is necessary..

Bottom line we need a public broadcasting system to deliver non biased news. Not fox news not msnbc news but real news.
