Hi all

This may seem like a silly question but bare with me..........

I've just finished my first grow of AK 48 and I ran into a few issues but I know thats all part of the learning process. This is the thing that some of you might find strange, I did the grow purely for the fun and enjoyment of growing, I don't smoke it.....I never have and don't think I ever will. So my question is apart from the obvious answer of "Give some to a friend" how do I know what the quality of the cannabis I've grown ? What should it look, smell and feel like etc etc ?

This maybe a "How longs a piece of string" question and the answer maybe "You don't know till you try it" but I thought I would ask

I doubt you will really know how good it is if you don't smoke it, one friend will say it's good, an other will say it'ls ok and so forth, some people giet high on swag and others need dank for a good high, it all depends on who the person is who's smoking it, seems a bit silly to grow something you don't use, o well to each his own.

Seriously? You grow, but don't smoke? If you just like gardening, why not grow some tomatoes or herbs like basil and peppermint, something you could use. If your not a toker and arn't a caregiver, don't bother growing it in the first place. Just my opinion.

This shit right here doesn't make a lick of sense.. Did you go and get a legal card and everything? Are you some type of genius who's ready to cash out? Or as some posters above have pointed out, are you a dumbass who ought to be growing tomatoes? Hey whatever floats your boat tho chief. Happy growing! LOL this a trip..

As far as look, there are pictures all over the net of healthy plants and harvests. Smell, look up the description of AK48. Feel is based on several factors, such as lights used, proper drying and curing, etc.

Seriously, if you're just growing and not smoking, why does it really matter if you grew good stuff? It could be ditch weed that looks nice, it really should not matter to you because it's not going to be smoked.

I bought some corn a few weeks ago that looked really nice but ended up tasting really bad. It was not the cooking method, it was simply bad tasting corn, but it did look good.

Perhaps you are in a legal area, otherwise I would call bullshit on someone growing MJ "just for the learning experience". What would you learn? Are you going to become a producer/distributor?

I didn't say I did it for the learning experience I said it was grown for the fun and enjoyment of growing. I used to grow Venus flytraps, I never smoked them or ate them and I still had fun, but as many of you have said in your own special way, each to their own............But thanks anyway !

Venus Flytraps aren't a crime to grow in most places of the world. There's a certain bit of paranoia that runs in places like this. If it shocked you; then you didn't spend much time reading. If you're shocked by the reaction; you're either a troll, dumb, or LE. In either event; you should be avoided.

Hey man
Get a strong magnifying glass. Your buds should have heaps of crystals look uo white widow. The crystals should be a milky or amber colour before you harvest. This doesnt neccesarily mean that its high thc but if it looks like the bud has been sprayed with crystals yiur usually on to a good start. After drying it will smell like hay and need to cure for a few weeks to get scent and flavour back.

Also have you thought about cooking or vaping It?

I wasn't jumping on him. I was simply saying if your not a user or provider I don't see the point in growing it considering the legality and stigma currently surrounding it. As to your original question JW5681, the only way to find out if it's good is for you or someone to try it. Looks, smells and the touch of it have little to no bearing on how good it is. There're labs that can test it, but why bother. If you have a trustworthy friend, just give it to them. If it turns out to be crap who cares, they got it for free anyways.

I could see the fun in growing venus flytraps and although I do truly love the growing process of marijuana, I'm mainly interested in the end product of the plant. I'm not sure if anyone would eat venus flytraps except maybe a mutant fly for revenge.

i agree u would think stonners would be more relaxed. what would it matter what he grew it for? smoke not smoke / sell / giveaway. that reason does not matter to u he asked a simple question granted it cant be answerd because u will never know how gd it is till its smoked. guess my friend was right so many hot heads on this forum just chill answer if u can but no need to flame the guy geez...
