The other day I topped my female that just started showing sex, and I thought what can I do with this top? I'll clone it!! haha that's right, I'm trying to clone a top that is no bigger than an inch tall. I'll get pics soon, and I'll stay updated. Keep in mind this is just for fun:peace:

i have topped almost 75% of the plants i've grown throughout the years... i have also cloned em', if its long enough it will take...

however, topping wont produce "more yield" it just splits the cola's, instead of 1 cola, you will have 2 somewhat smaller cola's..

good luck on the clone, let us know how it goes..

Thanks reefcouple, will do. I know normally people top in veg, and that it's not wise at all to do it during flowering, but Chuck I literally JUST started these plants into flowering, so I'm not too far in that it would hurt bud production, at least in my opinion.

It may a little.

Each branch will produce a cola. So if ya top the plant and lets say ya have 4 branches then ya will get 4 tops and 2 little ones.

Dont top and ya could get many tops.

you are right... they say you can even successfully clone a plant in its first week or two of flowering... but,, my goal is minimal stress during flowering.. think of it this way.. the more you stress a plant in flowering the more the growth is stunted.. the more the growth is stunted (during flowering) the longer it will take for the buds to become mature.
you know when you buy seeds it tells you flowering time? well thats only accurate under ideal conditions with no stress... is it worth it then? i dont think so,, stress the plant minimally in veg,, get it done and over with then while it doesnt really matter... not to mention stressing a female in flowering will increase the chance of hermaphroditism.

How would not topping get you more tops in flowering? I know that not topping would give one huge cola, and most likely the same yield as if you topped, it would just be different. Without topping it would be one huge cola, and with topping it would be a couple of smaller colas. It sounds to me as that it kinda evens out. And I definately see where you are comin from Chuck, the less stress the better.

dude i dont know why they are saying topping is bad lol. uh i think one of the main reasons to top is not for just the more tops but because of space u kno? tryin to keep short bushes is the best

Once ya grow a few crops you will get it.

Lets seeee do i want 4 tops or 15 tops hmmmmmmmm

I think i will take 15 tops

What ya want to do is cut some of the smaller branches off the bottom of the plant. Then ya get more energy to the remaining branches= more pot

dude still thinks were all about oh yay were gonna have more tops which means more bud! what the hell lol. we kno man we kno tops dont matter. but theirs reasons for topping dumbass

Hmm, I guess the more energy idea makes sense.. But if someone only has like 8 branches throughout the plant, more branches could "pop up" through topping. and again, like Whatsreallygood said, we do know that topping doesn't necessarily increase yield. Space issues are a major factor.

Once the plant is topped branching is over. Ya will get the 2 out the top.

For space. Yea exactly it stops the plant from producing more branches.

I am no dumbass. Thats for sure.

Dude has 2 posts and no plants and wants to call people names.
