Hey guys, this is my first whirl at outdoors....I am getting ready to make an outdoor mix....I have some plants that will have been vegged for around a month that will go into it....
I live in the NE US...So we do get some rain here, and there....Problem is I may not be able to get to the plants for weeks on end.....
Based on things I have so far, or have access to, this is what I've come up with for a Grow Medium :
Pro-mix HP - base
perlite - aeration - I was thinking I could use rice hulls or something else instead too so the perlite is not as visible.
vermiculite - aeration and moisture retention
Soil Moist - moisture rentention - is this overboard ?
EWC
lime
Some Type of Time Release Nutes ?
I also found these....It's an organic time release fertilizer...Perhaps better then the Miracle-Gro ?

Fox Farm's Bush Doctor Coco Loco soil mix - more nutes and moisture rentention
or
Fox Farm's Ocean Forest - sounds good but I heard gnats can be found in this sometimes
or
Roots Organic Potting Soil ?
I may or may not be able visit with tea mixes, or nutes every few weeks.....I am just learning to brew tea mixes....Can I give the plants tea mixes if they are dry ?
The idea is the have the nutes in the soil, and have the soil retain moisture for a while.....
The plants are going outdoors in about a week and a half so I don't have time to let it cook....
thoughts ?? thanks, SC
