So I've been rolling through my 'bucket and checking out pics of my three-inch plant from seed to current bud state. I figured it might be a bit tedious to make others roll through the experiment journal to keep track of it, so I'm going to put it all down here in a condensed format. It's from memory, so the time table might be slightly askew.
Here's the format: PIC FIRST, COMMENT AFTER PIC.
Here we have the hapless seedling, in some of the worst potting soil I've ever encountered - SuperSoil. If you happen by Lowes or Wal-Mart or Home Depot and you see this stuff, walk straight past it. It's too woody and this leaches nitrogen like nothing else, and is horrible in regards to pH maintenance.
Here we are, couple weeks later, almost NO GROWTH. This is a result of that damned crappy soil. AVOID SUPERSOIL AT ALL COSTS!
Here we are another couple of weeks later, transplanted into Miracle Gro garden soil (feeds up to three months.) Finally, some growth! Of course, there will be further problems later, but for now, it's doing far better.
Next week - much better, though still slow. I will learn later that this is still a pH problem, as you will see a couple pics downwards.
Here you see the beginnings of flowering, a couple of days after the previous pic. The lights at this point were 17/7, and the flowering never stopped once it started. This was random bagseed so my immediate thought was either major stress or autoflowering. Turned out to be autoflowering.
A week later - Here's the pH problem rearing it's ugly head again. This was corrected by watering with water and vinegar mixed, one tablespoon to a gallon of water.
Here we are, couple days later, still alive, with a 6-3/8" crossbow bolt next to the plant for height comparison. Most of the pistils are still white.
This is the beautiful cola top of the plant as it is TODAY (about 7 hours ago was when the picture was taken,) right about the end of week 6 of flowering. This is my current desktop background, BTW. 1920x1080 16:9 widescreen for you stoners that can handle it! Most of the trichromes are milky, and quite a few are turning amber. I'll be harvesting it in a few days and just drying it. Not going to bother with curing. I'm going to take this experiment just as I grew it - RAW. Gonna fire it up and let every harsh bit hit my lungs. Though it may not be that harsh, I've not used any real nutrients except for one, maybe two waterings, so there's likely nothing to end up leaching out.
So that's the chronicles of the three-inch runt! I'll let you know how it smokes in a week or so!
