oh! only one of them is a lil yellow. the other two could just use some more nutes. lol i figured out the pH on the ISS had a run off pH of 8.5+!!!! So I fed it some water with 4.0pH and it's looking a lot better.

Well it's a hydrofarm, enclosed ballast. I really like it, it would do great in a more open room like a well ventilated walk in closet, or just an unused room. I actually had to take a masonry grinder to it to get a hole for the exhaust. It worked out very well, I just need to find a better fan for the hood... I'm using a standard 5" fan and it's kinda noisy, but it does the job. Then I've got a 5" inline fan at the end of the ducting for a "boost." It's also a digital ballast though which is nice. If you're worried about heat like in a cabinet, you will probably have to upgrade to a better hood and get a ballast that isn't enclosed.

edit: that would be nice if a mod could move this to the journal section... thanks

Hawaiian

Big Bud

Island Sweet Skunk

Lemon Skunk x G13

edit: the ISS and Lemon x G13 were flushed right before these pics.

I've decided to bend the hawaiian over since she's so much taller than the others. I'll be flowering in 6-10 days depending on when I can get rid of the pH problem with the ISS.

I think the hawaiian is going to enjoy the horizontal grow though, since I only have a 250w I will get a much better canopy of colas than growing her vertically.

Well what I had to do was make a good stencil that fit the fan I was going to use. Then draw a circle on the hood where you need the fan to go(you have to make sure you have enough room between the fan and bulb for the fan on the inside of the hood). Then I took the bulb out and I took a masonry grinder, like this...

and very very carefully, you have to grind around the circle template that you drew while making sure the edge of the grinder is at a 45 degree angle to the metal you are grinding on the hood. That way you will get a smooth clean cut, it won't be pretty, but it gets the job done if you are careful!

I was very lucky to have my light hanger holes in the spot they are, I use them to zip tie the fan on the inside of the hood(I have to take the fan out each time I put in the HPS bulb which is only like once every 4-5 months or so).

I have no idea what kind of light you have, but depending on the quality of the metal, your steps could vary. Make sure you know where the outline is for the fan, and not just grind away the circle and then do a sloppy job. You have to be quick cause the metal will get red hot, but at the same time that's a good thing, so take your time to do a good job.

Good luck!

yes i see very nice i got the 250watt sunburst and it comes with a detatchable plate for adding my 4" flange to which i can add my inline fan to then exaust out the box at the top..i also purchased the glass cover for the light ..should i use the glass light cover or leave it open to pull up intake air?

You should only use the glass if you have an active intake also, otherwise it's like a vacuum and probably wouldn't be very efficient, but I've never used one so I wouldn't know.

I wish mine had the flanges, that would have been so much easier. haha

I've been trying to figure out what's the best way to arrange my plants, and I'm using some freezer racks that work perfect with the airflow. :) I think this is the best arrangement so far as far as light penetration goes. I think they are going to love this set up. I plan to flower in the next week or two depending on when I can get all my plants nice and green at the same time.

nice one dude ... good job .
altho i would suggest for ur next grow u lower that light a bit , u can see the plant are stretching at the bottom of the plant .
for example in the pic , the plant behind the writing "Lemon X" , and under the righting "hawaiian"
u can really see them stretching .

na, they are fine IMO. I didn't grow the Lemon x G13, there's nodes you can't see in the picture that have tiny leaves on the main stem and branches. It was once used as a mother at my dispensary. It hasn't grown much or stretched for that matter since I've had it. I could have them a little closer but it would be a little warmer and I don't think that's worth it IMO.

and the hawaiian is actually tied down so it looks weird at that angle.

The top of the hawaiian...

there's lots of tiny leaves/nodes that are sprouting. that's why I got it as a discount. :D

and the top of the Lemon x G13...

the nodes are actually quite close IMHO. hahah

the only thing I think is stretched really is the bottom branches of the hawaiian, but I did that so they are some what level with the top of the plant..

Isn't some stretching a good thing though? like look at this...
