You can do it without untieing them, just spray them with the mix, then the next day spray off entire plant with clean water in the spray bottle. Good luck.Vinegar is an amazing product... good for throat infections, also cleaning windows.
Thanks chiceh... These thrips are damaging. I have such a tight space to work in though, and my plants are all tied up. So if i let them down, they'll fall over.
I just got to live with them for now. The end of harvest and i'm going on a major disinfect mission in my grow spaces. Clean everything up, then start all over again.
They will infest your plant and kill it.Yeah, if I was someone else, I'd be screaming at them by now to get up there and get the job done.
Trouble is, it's me... and even now I'm contemplating my next hit... then I forget... there's always something more important to do...
Do they only attack leaves? If my theory on trich' development is correct, then the dying fan leaves should force the plant into extra trich' production.

Going to the grow store today to see what they recommend.....I noticed the silver streaky stuff on my leaves WEEKS ago, but didn't know what it was-- never saw any bugs!! But the little black spots started to appear, so I checked the underside of a leaf with my microscope, and sure enough ;'-( I am 2 1/2 weeks into flower, so I don't want to ruin any of the bud production.....what do thrips come from???I just had my first encounter with theses fockers. vapona insect strips, yellow sticky strips and diatomaceous earth seemed to do the trick.killed them in less than 48 hours, havent seen any sign of them returning yet and it's been almost week, there's a chance they'll be back so I will wait patiently for there arrival....and then they will meet there demise once again.
I did this and it worked great only thing I added was garlic as well.I have the bastard thrips too in my soil grow. They are nasty little shits, leaving behind thier poop and sucking out my plants. I use a 1 litre spray bottle, cover the bottom with dish soap, fill with 3/4 water and top off the last 1/4 with vinegar, shake gently. Spray all over your plants make sure under the leaves and rinse off the next day. Gone.
