Hi Petflora,
That is some thing else I'm going to do from now on, that's shorten the hours of light to get them to start alternating branch before they go into full flowering plus I think a person could gain from shorting the light time by 15 to 30 minutes a day during the flowering stage, like cut it back 15 minutes every 5 to 7 days so they might put on more hair faster thinking that winter is near and see if it makes them try to get that last chance to seed before it's to late. We know they will put on a male flower trying to seed when no males are there for them in some cases.
So you think rotating 3 or 2 settings would work pretty good? You could build a grow box with 3 sliding shelves 4 1/2' x 4 1/2' x 2 1/2' then raise and lower the light to the level you need for that 8 hours for shelf 1, then raise to shelf 2 for 8 hours then shelf 3 then repeat, and each siding shelf have a light proof door on it.
I think it would work fine, I've just never heard of any one doing any thing a long these lines before and would love to hear what you advanced growing pros think of this idea.
Plus I need to learn what to feed them to boost the size of the buds. I am no expert and there are so many products out now in that area that all clam to be the best, I need help in that area for sure.
I do also change bulbs and mix the red and blue to about a 70/30 to 80/20% mix so they still have the little bit of red there in the case it needs it during veg stage, and the bit of blue in flowering in case they need it, but your right about more red & less blue as they come to the end of their life.
All help & info from any one is so much appreciated. I need help from any one that can help me from going out side 25yr ago to indoors in this day & age with all the new tricks that the advanced growers of today have now learnt & what nutes work best to get the most back.
I know these buds the size of 2 liter coke bottles are not just a seed stuck in dirt, there are tricks to getting these results. I now see that cutting the light back a little at a time lets them go into the alternating branch stage witch will result in longer buds too & this stage is a must have stage. Just as cloning big healthy limbs or (suckers) we called them is going to keep on growing while they are rooting. I also took a few suckers that didn't have any nodes to cut off for roots to grow out of the places where the nodes were at, so I took and scraped the stem and made some wounds on the stems and those clones grew a lot more roots than the ones I just cut the nodes off of, this makes the stem grow a lot more roots but you need to be careful and not scrape to hard or take off all the stems covering either.
So every one that can help me in any way, I sure do thank you in advance.
