Time Running Out For My Sour Diesel ??

Hey folks. This season I ended up with just Sour Diesel Clones. I usually grow Indica or indica dominant strains but fate left me with Sativa dominated SD's. Usually by the first of September the indica are well into flowering but it's not the case with the SDs. Average first frost date here is 10/20 although I believe I'm in a micro climate that might get me a week or two more than that. I'm worried that these very healthy plants are just not going to have enough time to finish. They are clearly flowering and I'm hoping the shorter days and cooler weather will help them along. I'm hitting them as hard as I dare with Dyna Grow but I'm curious if I'm fighting a losing battle. Can anymore spare any advise or imput or are the girls destined to not finishing in the six or seven weeks I have left? Riddle me this.... they have been flowering slowly for a few weeks. Can I expect them to kick into high gear with the cooler temps and shorter days or should I just start shedding tears now. Thanks from a 60 YO smoker whose successfully been growing outdoors since the early 80's and the days of the black and white "Sensimilla tips" Magazine and the long gone " Super Sativa Seed Club".
Help!!! Oh yes... I had a couple "Super Silver" plants last season and they finished ok....

That sucks.. I have a few plants doing the same. I have written them off as hash plants now since the flower won't be worth smoking. I do find the cold nights definitely kick them into high gear though.

Too bad you don't have any beans stashed away from the super sativa seed club!! Would love some of their genetics.

I really don't understand what the story is this season. I got pals who have straight up Indica s and they are way behind schedule as well. Last time around I had some Super Silver which I thought was even more Sativa dominant than the Diesel and it finished almost as early as a Bubba Kush and B. Tahoe. I think that one breeder's variety can sometimes act completely different than anothers. Far to many breeders and far too many breeders calling their chit the same thing and they don't have anywhere near the same genetics. Back in 1980 there wasn't but a few named varieties and now I couldn't even guess how many so called named strains there are. Half of the time I believe the names are different but the strains are pretty much the same. I don't remember how many strains the Super Sativa seed club offered but for 20 years I was able to keep my Skunk, Northern Lights and Swazi going but I lost them all with time. I would love to see a Skunk from 1980 next to a Skunk from 2016. I bet they are hardly the same plant. Hybrid vigor can be highly over rated and I should just stick with the oldies but goodies. I sure don't see the benifts of 1000 strains. It's part of the same industrial phenomenon that makes a bottle of fertilizer worth $50 and I don't think you can buy a better soil than I can make. In fact, it was years and years before I felt the need to augment my soil with anything but my own seaweed tea. The hype is overwhelming concerning a plant that is actually very easy to grow successfully with zero cost. Some of my best years were when they grew like weeds with very little attention. Ive had VERY successful seasons where i only visted the plants once or twice. They took care of business without intervention. Well ill hold my breath this year and hope for a late first HARD frost.
