Neem oil does not work. The bugs quickly become immune to it, and it saps the vigor of your plants.

I've devoted over twenty years to studying mites, and in my small community of growers there is over 100 hundred years combined experience in fighting them.

The only thing that we have found that works is http://www.spider-mites.com If it works on the new Mendo Mites - Nearly impossible to kill because there has been so much toxins used in the past, the mites have evolved. (Using toxicity to kill any bugs, means having to increase the toxicity to have the same results, as the bugs become immune to the poisons)

If you email me your mailing address, I will send you a Free Sample (1 OZ Concentrate makes tens gallons) I will even pay for the shipping for the opportunity to prove that Farmer Tom's All Natural works and is safe. customerservice@farmertomsallnatural.com

All I ask in return is that you let everyone know how it worked for you.

-Farmer Tom

(Sorry, but I can't do this for everyone of course.)
this dude doesn't have spider mites!!! but I'll take you up on that offer, just to have in case disaster should strike my humble efforts!

Good. and for the record, what we have here are oribatid mites. helpful little shredding machines keeping your soil friable & aerated! your soil just heaved a sigh of relief, as did your plants!

WHITE.)i could easily see the lil legs and antenna.they are NOT ON THE LEAVES OR STEMS OR DO I SEE ANY WEBS.OR LEAF DAMAGE..i only seen them moving on the pot edges itself..They are not long likee.no wings they dont jump..they move fairly fast.they seem like tiny white spiders..but they dont fit the mold of spider mites.???????

These are the little guys I had/have. I have been told aphids and Hypoaspis miles. I got 1500 ladybugs just incase they were aphids, and I cant really tell if they are making a difference or not. I will tell you though that there is no damage to my plants. If they are aphids, I dont know how long it takes for the damage to occur, but I have none. Some people say that they had what they thought were aphids with no problems to their plants. My thinking is maybe what some people are thinking are aphids are actually not, and you find that out when there is no damage? I had my pic blown up too and nobody could tell me for sure what these lil faukers were. Good luck!

I used foxfarm too. I didnt think I had/have aphids either, its so easy for mugs to say thats what they are. I figured the lady bugs will take care of anything on the leafs, which there is no problem there, and just see what happens. On youtube someone had a really close video that said those miles things, looked exactly like mine. Youtube only had one or two videos on Hypoaspis miles if you wanna look it up. Good luck, and hope they ARE in fact good friends rather than pain in the arse

same bugs, they are just more grown. That is the same guy, I sent him a message asking him questions to help me make sure thats what they were.

Here is his response to me.
Hi,

"I'm fairly sure they are. I did a good amount of research and close inspection/comparison of different species. The rule of thumb is that if they are fast moving (such as the ones in my videos) they are usually "predatory" mites. Aphids are usually green or light green in color and hardly move at all. They tend to bunch together in one area.

These mites come out of the soil when you water the plant and run around all over the place. If thats what you have, they are most probably some sort of predatory mites that dont harm your plant.

Alex"

either way, good luck!

Possible root aphids, spring tails, soil lice. I had root aphids look like tiny white moving dots to the naked eye. I used botanigard 22wp successfully.

Sorry to stir this old thread up but..

Whew.. Thank buddah for RIU!!
And HighFlyr for experiencing this before me.
I've been growing personally for almost 7 years and most of that time I've been using FFOF soil. I've noticed over the last couple years FFOF coming out of the bag hotter and hotter. I just seen these guys for the first time ever in my veg room tonight on my newly planted clones. Now, I've been through the hell of spider mites years ago so i didn't think thats what they were. However, as a new caregiver/patient for 3 with our first "real" crop moving along. I still jumped and freaked out!! We just rebuilt new grow rooms and these are on the first batch of clones in the new room. I thought.. "how ironic". It was quite a scare.
They're exactly what flyr has. I'm so glad to here they are beneficial!
I can't believe i've neglected this site for so long.. Thanks once again RIU!!
