some people have told me that when ur taking ur hit and you cough it increases ur high do you believe this?

I heard it helps your lungs expel some of the toxins. Regardless of why, coughing is normal after a large hit and anybody who makes fun of someone for it needs to shut up.

im sure someone else can give a better medical reason, but when you cough, you exhale the air in your lungs, the light-headedness is a side effect of that oxygen deprivation.

Coughing could affect your high in this way.......

When you cough your lungs expand.....therefore more THC gets absorbed into them.....

In theory, of course :bigjoint:

I get what your saying, but I could understand that if you were inhaling right as your we about to cough. I don't know I could explain myself, but like, you know how you take that deep breath right before you cough (expanding your lungs)... If that was smoke, then I could understand. But if you were to just cough, then take a hit, its not like your lungs will expand as far as it did in the initial inhale that preceded the cough.. If you know what I mean..

I don't really see how coughing can make you higher. I think people are confusing the watery-eyes, and the light headedness as being higher. I used to think it but then noticed after about 30 seconds your back to your normal high and your throat burns like fuck.

Either that or people just wanna make an excuse for coughing. lol Nothing wrong with coughing when you need to. It's when cough on virtually every puff that makes people sorta look like they have no clue what their doing.

I'm used to my bong and know my limits on it so I don't cough much. Every few tokes I do give a little cough on purpose more or less to clear my throat though.

Wtf? Then why does the smoke come out? I learned in middle school science that your lungs expand when you INHALE.
