To fish or not to fish, that's my ??

I can see why it would be beneficial, but outdoors things will come dig up your plant to get to the fish....and inside any critters will do the same, and if you have no animals, then I still don't like the idea of having a dead fish in my room...lol
 
It was suppose to be the remains/waste and they put it in there AFTER each harvest to replenish the nutrients that corn will drain from any soil in it's path. I live by many farms and you know the reason the Native Americans did this?...because there were no places to buy Advanced nutrients or Botanicare, lofl. Since there are so many professional options out there why would you use a technique that's 100's of years old?

But seriously, I would NEVER put a fish in the hole with a plant. That's just asking for trouble. I have a small bottle of fish emulsion a company sent me as a sample and I'm afraid to use it because of the smell. I won't even use it in my veggie garden. I'm not sure if or when the Indians did that or not, but it was long before they were introduced to modern agriculture. With all the fertilizers we have available today, chemical, organic, semi-organic, time released, liquid, etc, take your pick. Fox Farms has 2 time released dry mix fertilizers. American Pride and Marine Cuisine. I've been using American Pride this year and it seems like it is good stuff. I use all my nutes in my vegetable garden too. If money is a serious issue go to wal-mart or your local hardware store and pick up a bottle of Schultz All Purpose for like $4. It's the stuff that comes in the dropper bottle lid that your grandma probably used to use. I used it for almost an entire season until I broke down and bought some Botanicare. Been using Botanicare for 3 years now and never looked back.

dig a hole in the ground, place a fish in there and come back in a month and dig up..worms are consuming the remains..same with a human corpse ...i have buried dead raccoons, birds and cats and planted on top of them.

And for good reason...I figured I don't have anything inside that will dig up my plants to get this fish emulsion so I will add a little to the indoor plants...well turns out it drives mice crazy because as soon as I watered with the fish emulsion the next morning there was dirt all over under the pots where mice had tunneled through the pots...bull shit...effing field mice...

agree a wolf or bear could probably smell a fish 18 inches buried, but no wolves or bears by me...have never had an animal dig up a fish...I use alaskan fish fert from walmart and it smells awful...i left a bottle out by a patch last year and something actually chewed a hole in the heavy duty plastic container and drank most of that nasty shit..maybe a fox or coon?....the trick to using that alaskan fish fert is after you use it, spray the plant and the surrounding ground around the plant with neem oil to mask the smell.
 
I know a lot of people are saying that there will be no difference but i do hope you continue to update us with a side by side and smoke report at the end.
 
I tried it last year..there was no visual difference ...think I should have chopped up the fish finely and mixed it in with the soil and there would have been benefits
 
So yeah, I will update all progress. I'll let everyone know about smell, insect, and animals. I see a few of you have tried this with no improvements? No matter how you look at it, it's not a waste of time unless the whole plant should disappear, lol! I'll put a pic up this afternoon so we can see difference, if any! And on a side note, of course I know I can buy emoulsions and nutes to do the same, but i'm just curious.
 
I did feel bad throwing those bullhead in that hole...I won't lie....they were taking over the pond though and need to be culled.
 
And can you guys stop saying "indians" we are Native Americans, not from India. Common mistake tho.
