ok next grow ill be solving this very debatable issue, 5 plants of the same strain, exact some growing conditions, two get two week flush, one gets one week flush, two get no flush, ill post the entire grow and smoke reports on here, any suggestions to help improve this experiment. ill b using fox farm soil, 5 gallon pots, Fox farm big bloom and tiger bloom, LST and topping. 250 watt hps. photo-period plants. each will be cured for one month

you dont need to flush. i cut my last plant down with no flush at all, and it burns smooth and clean. no crackling or popping at all.

In the experiment are you gonna be using clones from the same mother? I just had this flushing debate on another forum yesterday. And I suggested an experiment simmilar to yours. This dude suggested using clones from the same mother plant.

What nutes you using? I use Fox Farm (Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom) and i have to flush at least a week.
ive been using gh flora series and blackstrap molasses. there is a couple threads on hear about flushing. i like smoking a joint or a bowl with someone and wait till after we smoked to ask them what they think. they all liked it, then i told them that i never flushed that plant at all besides leaching out salt buildup.

dude i didnt leach at the end. and when you leach you never get everything out of the soil. and then i go right back to nutes.

Why?
Seems to me if ya gotta do that using the ferts at a weaker dilution more frequently is a far better way to handle it.
Regards the whole flush thing I just stop feeding and water as normal about 10 days before chop.

ive done the research and personally i agree with you, i cut down a premature plant with no flush at all and it definilty dosent taste bad or pop or nothin like that. im jus doin this for PROOF that you dont need to flush so everyone can stop the debate

nah i dnt really fuck wit clones unless ima do a hydro set up, seeds r jus so much more simpiler, and its not the way it grows im really worried about its the smoke after cure, everyone says an unflushed plant will taste bad and crackle n pop. diffrent seeds wont have that much of a diffrence when it comes to smoke besides diffrent phenotypes but thts a given

thats kool. i did the same thing after i read a couple threads on here about to flush or not to flush. everyone i read said they couldnt tell the difference between them, and neither can i.

Today I'm taking down a room of NYCD, at 10 weeks flowering. Some of the room finished faster than the rest, due to a dodgy green light. I'm now satisfied that it's finished enough, so down it comes.

The half of the room that finished on schedule has been flushed for a week. That was 2 waterings. The stuff taking longer has not exactly been flushed; the last watering, it got water+Cha Ching, a fox farm product, and a "sweet"-type product. I wouldn't exactly call that a flush; it contained some nute, rather than just plain water...

I'll soon see for myself. But I think flush is great: if your plants are a week or so away, they probably don't NEED nutes at this point, so you might as well just feed 'em water. It costs little to nothing (certainly less than feeding them nutes), involves zero extra effort, and is harmless to the plants and the flavor and smokeability of the dried, cured product. In fact, I can't think of one good reason NOT to flush. Unless it's important to you to prove strangers on the internet wrong.
