To trim or not to trim?

Hey people, Just need a bit of advise.

My plant is getting fucking huge, and bushy. I was wondering if I should trim away some of the lower branches?

Would this hurt or improve my yields when I am this far in to flowering?

Thanks for the Fast reply man.

Ok, so then maybe I should look into getting another CFL for that left side then?

Sure why not, as long as the temperatures are good

That plant is a monster!

Starve it of nitrogen, and it will start feeding off the foliage. that's a good thing, because too much chlorophyll and N just plain taste bad.

+rep they look great!

dont take any fan leaves off unless theyre dying. the fan leaves catch the majority of the light for the plant

Thanks for the rep and the info turkish420.

So then my project when I get home is to find any dead or dying leaves and remove them.

yup! no sense letting the plant waste its energy trying to revive a dead leaf/branch. let all that goodness head upwards!

I agree, I never ever cut a leaf anymore unless absolutely necessary. I have tried both, and had major plant problems when I trimmed fan leaves trying to get more light to buds. I FIRMLY believe the only leaves, even if a fan leave, has any discoloration, injury, or something that has changed the look of that leaf should be cut. Even lower branches I don't trim anymore, I put CFL's on the floor to keep the light on my bottom buds. I don't trim the tops of a plant, then let the rest grow out. I have tried this with three plants and didn't particulary enjoy the buds from the bottom of any. My 2 pennies!!

you are losing an incredible amount of light by not having the area enclosed and surrounded by some sort of reflective material. in the pictures, part of your plant is in the dark O_o

I can only work with what I have man. So far so good though. If I even come off with 2 - 3 ounces, I would be able to setup a proper grow cabinet with the profits.

but you are right. I do need to get more light to that one side. I have already placed another CFL to light that one side.

So My next grow which will most likely be this same strain. I should have a proper grow cabinet.

Can any one recommend a good grow tent that could house such a monster :D

i can recommend building a growcab for cheap. if i can do it, you can do it. im incredibly unhandy with arthritis and lupus and i did it in a couple hours for (literally) a small fraction of what they are being sold for. A tent or a cab or whatever...you will definately be impressed once you trap that light!

If you can find me some plans, with a parts list. I am all over that shit. hehe.
